I agree with you mate.
Whether he was man of the match or not doesn’t really matter. Man of the match is subjective and really just a token gesture anyway.
He is 17, you don’t get many 17 year olds rock up in the starting line up. He was the one player that tried to make something happen, something a bit different.
His task today wasn’t helped by some of the hoofball. Nothing wrong in division 4 with a good old whack into the channels now and then but they appeared especially wild today, Daniels in particular played more than a few that a whippet wouldn’t have got.
There was a moment in the first half that summed up how frustrating it must have been at times for him. He laid the ball off to White, and made a nice little run into the golden area half way between the half way line and the penalty area, looking for a return ball, and White goes off on some gangly run without the ball under control and runs it out of play. I am going off in another direction here but this is why I have never been a fan of systems with wing backs, because you need really good wing backs to make it work. (Think Rico and Demitriou)
Anyway, Maher I really hope the lad progresses. I get the feeling it is going to be tough for him in League 2, and get harder as the pitches get worse, but he certainly has something about him that is enjoyable to watch.
