2 games in and 2 howlers from our new back up keeper. I know he’s young but hopefully it’s just being rusty rather than rubbish. The sooner the new GK coach comes in, the better!

tell you what that CB we had on trial…everton is it ??? big old lump but a bit lumbersum on the ball… Month will be huge for us next season hes such a better player now looks comfortable on the ball… our cm with the shorts that was bigger than him didnt impress much…Maher some great potential…LP was walking around the ground all game…said we have agreed a deal for a striker but the 2nd half was still too do (personal terms) he was happy too chat too anyone…

Mayer I would say was the most impressive tonight. And if he carries on can only be a starter in the opening game . If your good enough your old enough I say fair play to him he looks very promising.

Poor first half very much on the back foot. Second half we improved, Maher looks a talent a real goal threat judging on todays game id probably put him in front of Flynn Clarke.
From the trialist i would probably only keep Abraham.

From what I’ve seen and heard so far I don’t think any of the trialists are good enough even Abraham
We have a young inexperienced striker on loan already who has performed poor on the 2 friendlies I wouldn’t take a punt on a further inexperienced striker who hasn’t really shone either
Williams was a lot better than Abraham

Tbf i thought majority of the team were cack today. Thing with abraham his got good attributes theres definitely potential in him.

Presumably what you’ve seen is the actual games.
I did get that impression too mate . I spoke to Pomlett but got the feeling he does like his self importance and might tell the odd porky to make himself and the club be shown in a better light. Time will tell .
Pretty typical pre-season practise game with a few trialists and lots of subs. Wasn’t the most action packed of games as we did our old trick of playing far too much football in the build up and then losing it cheaply rather than getting the ball into the danger areas.
The bright spots were a couple of nice touches from F. Clarke in the first half, Williams showing plenty of nous the way he took his goal (we need to find someone to be Kyle Lightbourne to his Kevin Wilson), and Maher impressed again - we could have a real gem on our hands.

One more thought - on Saturday both Kiernan and Menayese were left out of the squad. Tonight they were named on the bench but neither brought on even though we more or less swapped out the whole starting XI. Slight injuries or are they having their noses rubbed in it for some reason?
Same happend with Perry against Villa, he was the only player to not get substituted on.
