Good Friday but we should rename it HUGE Friday such is the magnitude of this game. Always love a bank holiday fixture, there’s always a special atmosphere and doubly so for Easter, one of the best events on the calendar, behind only Xmas and Halloween. Kicks off a fabulous Easter weekend for me personally, the big game tomorrow and then off to London to watch the boat race tomorrow before Easter service at St Paul’s cathedral on Sunday before concluding the Easter festivities in Swindon on Monday.

A defeat doesn’t bear thinking about, would be the death kneel of our play off dream, a draw would mean we require perfection here on in and a victory very much keeps us in the picture.

Looks like a bumper bank holiday audience, let’s get the Pallet-Track absolutely rocking tomorrow for db and the group as the start of one last push. My Softhand Solutions Ltd big match prediction is 3-0 to the good guys and my Greystone Accountants key player is Alec Pattison who we need at his very best to unlock the Gills backline.

I won’t be there but think we can win to continue Gillingham’s poor form. 2-0

Does anybody know any possible reason why Gillingham are in poor form?

No, but playing us quite often seems to give teams on a bad run a much needed win

The referee for this one is William Davis from Manchester. He is a newbie to EFL level on trial for promotion for next season. This will be only his fifth game at League level.
He has not officiated a game involving either us or Gillingham before.
His two most recent League 2 games were Barnet v Chesterfield and Shrewsbury v Notts County and he only gave out three yellow cards in total so hopefully he is one to let the game flow.
Lets see how this one goes.

This is a game we should and need to win, I don’t think wee can afford the slightest slip up to have a chance of 7th place.
I hope there’s a good crowd tomorrow cheering the lads to victory and then another tough game at Swindon on Monday, that game will define the remainder of the season.

Well apart from the last defeat a 2-0 away loss to Crawley there have had a particularly tough run of fixtures against most of the top half of league 2 or improving lower teams ie Bristol Rovers

Big match. 2-1 to the saddlers

I don’t care what the score is, and I don’t care if it’s a poor game, just as long as we win.
Hopefully there will be a big turn out by the Walsall faithful tomorrow, and that we make plenty of noise to drive the lads on.

Gillingham have lost their last 5 and only won 2 out of their last 13 games (sounds familiar) So an away win it is then

Has Mat Sadler been providing advice on a consultancy basis?

That was the old Walsall, this is the new Walsall …

Happy Easter one and all. Let’s get the Pallet-Track track absolutely rocking this afternoon.

Out: Flint, Lakin, Adomah

In: Farq, Clarke, Jellis

Kanu back in squad and on bench

Starting to believe Rico Richards is just a figment of my imagination. Does he really exist? Is he a real person?

Has Jamma retired early

Along with Weir and Barrett by the look of it.
