Danny Johnson Signs (Again)

Be funny if they’re trolling us and its David Johnson as first team coach

Don’t one or two look very, very silly now. I don’t mean the “regulars”, who have genuine and fairly reasonable concerns about how things might pan out with an untried and as yet untested team. I mean those saying Sadler was a mistake because he couldn’t attract anyone. I mean those sharing “inside info” that the club was in such a mess they were unable to sign anyone. And anything similar.

To quote one of my favourite posters on here, it does appear that the club really have taken a belt and braces approach to recruitment at all levels this close season. Whatever transpires now, in terms of actual results, it’s been a bold step in a new direction. We were all fairly fed up with the old direction.

This is mental that the club can sit on their hands and do quite literally nothing for 6 weeks and then get an assistant and 2 strikers in all in one morning!!!

:rofl::rofl::rofl:

And one or two never learn every summer :joy: I’d give it a few months first before giving it this :+1:

come on, confirm it!

So can you expand on what you would like to see happening differently at Bescot now? Don’t include not making Sadler head coach, because I understand your concerns on that but the club have very much decided this is the way to go. What else would you like to be seeing?

Danny Johnson is a red is a red . He hates mansfield :musical_note: :musical_note: :musical_note:

My guess is that sometimes deals take a little longer than we would like them to because players (or their agents) are looking at all their options.

I would have thought DJ for example, would have more offers to consider than ours.

I think the batteries in the video camera must have gone flat.

Just shows what can happen when Mat takes a morning off from his property business!

A good days work (apart from DJT)

There is absolutely zero excuse not to push for the play offs this season if we have Evans DJ Matt Hutch and Daniels in the side. That is a strong spine.

They could get in any side in the division.

No genuine Walsall fan wants us to lose.

I think the doubt on the goings on since the departure of Flynn are well founded. And continue to be so.

Truth is - this signing is 6 months too late. I wonder what the cost of paying Flynn off was in comparison to paying for DJ.

Gutted he’s signed.

Was enjoying reading grown men going way over the top about how shit we are going to be.

True, but also no excuse now.

Over to Mat

Oh….do you think? I hadn’t thought of that or repeatedly said it for 6 weeks….

Wins.

I’d just like to point out I never once said he’d fail to attract players. And the money worries are some of the most hairbrained bullshit I have ever seen on here.

I do think it is a fair concern that Sadler is very much a wildcard, but he has been given some weapons.

Some decent midfielders for a start. We look very average in that department. I’d still like to see another striker in to make it 4, depending on the plan for Marv.

But what I’d like to see most is a noted change of strategy from the club. Everyone lost it when Ben Boycott wrote a letter proclaiming it a brave new world. Well so far we have two strikers that were here for most of last season and a manager that was part of the backing staff. A very good replacement for Monthe in Farq but that seems like for like (yes I know they play opposite sides of centre half).

THIS IS A VERY VERY GOOD SIGNING. I don’t think the job is done by any stretch though in terms of turning us into a competent top half side.

I don’t think he needs an “excuse” but also we have to recognise that this is a new management team, trying to play in a very different way and it may take a wee while to get their thoughts and ideas across.

The really good thing now is that we have a significant number of players signed up for a couple of years and, the way Trivela are going about things, I’d be surprised if they don’t start to try and sign up the important players with only a year left on their contracts to a follow on deal. That way, even if next season terms out to be a transition one, we’ll have everything nicely in place, including a new ethos, for the following season as well. So we’re not boom or bust.

I don’t follow cricket so would I be correct in assuming there has been a rain break or two at Lords and Mat has used the time to make a few phone calls to DJ, DJT, Wazza and of course Alabama? Anyway, some good work done today and hopefully tomorrow Mat can enjoy a full days cricket with no rain or work interruptions.

I think your post is very premature calling out the knockers like you are ‘see you were wrong. We’ve got our Walsall back’

I am VERY pleased with 4 signings the other one pointless and a waste of a wage. There is along way to go in the transfer market before we could compete say for the top 6
