Dean Smith and John Terry

So dreadful? A fat Jimmy Walker or Jonny Brain to choose from in goal. An old and immobile Jon Macken up front. a defence with one League one standard defender in it?

Oh yeah, should have been pulling up trees with that squad :joy::joy::joy:

WHAT!? A decent squad?!

The match day squad for his first game as Caretaker manager …

21 Bevan - Crap
02 Westlake - Crap
32 Butler - Quality
03 Lescott - Crap
06 Smith - Decent
08 Richards - Decent
12 Marshall - Crap
07 Jones - Decent
10 Macken - Good player
11 Nicholls - Decent
15 Paterson - Quality now but wasn’t that good back then

Substitutes
01 Brain - Crap
04 McDonald - Average
05 Lancashire - Crap
23 McGivern - Crap
18 Gray - Good on his day
20 Geddes - Seen as the next big thing but crap
19 Grigg - Quality now but wasn’t that good back then

That is a ■■■■ squad.

Not to forget Taundry, that squad was stinking…

Yep, @Taundz was dreadful.

Pretty threadbare. Not to forget we were in the relegation zone at the time.

It’s all relative.

It was a good squad in comparison with other seasons.

To what? Cos it was pretty ■■■■ relative to the rest of League One.

It finished 10th the previous season, under the same manager (who was a ■■■■ manager)

Ergo, it cant have been that bad right?

No it didn’t. The squad that finished 10th included …

Mark Hughes, Rhys Weston, Dwayne Mattis, Troy Deeney, Mark Bradley and Darren Byfield (who was injured for most of Smiths first season) … All better than most in that squad.

Well players can happen to have a good season. Look at how those players careers have gone since. One still in League one, two in the championship (who were developing at the time) and the rest?

And as Scott said it had much better individuals in it when it finished 10th. That squad was dross relative to anything that is a league squad.

Ken was a notorious Smith hater. Nailed his colours to the mast even before the bloke got the job.

In my opinion it was a good squad. And it proved to be after Smith took over.

Your opinion is wrong then. Or he would have kept them all and they wouldn’t mostly all be non league players now.

No I didn’t.

Smith’s record at Walsall is ■■■■■■■ ■■■■. It’s the 3rd worst in our history and his football was boring.

At home, we had the worst record under him than prbably Hibbitt. Like watching paint dry.

Most players that play for Walsall end up in non league within 3 years

Yeah the ones that don’t make the league one grade.

Oh yes you did. Some of the stuff you posted on here about Smith was vile.

Shut up you massive ■■■■■

FFS

In what context? :joy::joy::joy:

Plain delusion.

No, do some research.

Most Walsall players are on the way down the pyramid and end up in non league. We have been well and truly spoilt since the likes of Dann came through, But they are exceptions rather than the rule.
