Debating Walsall's play-off hopes

The next yellow card accumulation suspension landmark is 37 games (only 3 away) - pick up 10 by then and it’s a 2 match ban. Have we got anyone close?

Of course a sending off will also get a ban …

According to WhoScored.com the closest to 10 yellows are Knowles and Hutch/McEntee with 8 and 7’s respectively.
I was thinking of a red personally, especially with the inexperience of the back 3

@Stretch still searching round NZ for a Tranmere fan to ask about 18th spot for you

Found a bury fan, and a Huddersfield fan but Tranmere fans are in short supply

Enjoyed the story of the co presenter becoming a Walsall fan in 2017, good listen thank you guys.

Agreed. Found a Wrexham fan (he predates the hollywoods too!), but lower league fans are in short supply

Typical conversation here:

Kiwi: so who do you support?
Me: Walsall
Kiwi: who?
Me: it’s a small town in Poland
Kiwi: but who’s your proper team?
Me: the day I support any team responsible for the poverty inherent at the level of football my team plays at is the day I die [cue premier league greed rant]

Not really related but that reminded me of a memory.

Forest Green away just before Covid.

We were sat in a cosy little pub for a quick drink before heading home. The barman started chatting to our George who would have been 7 at the time. He asks George, “Who do you support?” Pretty obvious as he was sitting there with a Walsall scarf on, but he replies “Walsall” The barman says, “Who is your second team” Fully expecting him to say Man United or similar. George “Walsall Reserves” Proud Dad moment, and it got a fair few laughs!

@Bluejay anything below 8th will be a failure.

I hope we make it and back this team 100% in the pursuit to do so.

But you think 16th is sound. That is weird.

You do realise 8th is 1 place out the play offs?

What is weird is continued negativity on life , cheer up , look around , getting up each morning seeing the sun , no matter what shit hits you life is amazing , the negativity that comes forth for something that meant to give you joy is what is weird .

Whether it’s 16th , 18th , 8th , 5th or 3rd or any position in between it’s a game of football, it’s better than last season. If it gives you joy being negative towards those of us who over a life time have learned to dance in the rain while you get wet like an old sponge so be it.

Enjoy the day I’m continuing my hunt for a Tranmere fan my advice hum this diti today it really does make you happy , failure what’s that.

Walsall: Mat Sadler’s side ‘still chasing’ after League Two promotion surge - BBC Sport

I was agreeing with your post until you posted that video.
Absolutely no place for that song anywhere, ever.
As you will have guessed I’m fairly optimistic but there’s something about this song that’s undescribably arrrggghhh!

Didn’t think we were in with a shout a couple of weeks ago but now it’s all changed and we very much are let’s hope we can keep being consistent that’s the key to it now.

I think I saw that we have taken 30 points from the last 15 games (Someone will correct me if I misread that!)
If we can keep up an average of 2 points per game until the end of the season, it should be enough to make the play offs.

We’ve taken 12 from.the last 4 - keep that up and we could make an automatic spot.

Changed video - any better

The BBC ‘where will they finish’ computer, that analyses future trends/expected results, who had us finishing 20th in the January version now has us finishing 7th!! Do they know something we don’t?
Lets hope they are right, knock out Barrow and then another Wembley?
