Alan Buckley for me.
2015/16 team under Smith
After the last 6 seasons, this is like a dream.
People forget we had some good players in that team Adebayo Jules Cameron Pring Wes Mcdonald on his day was also good we also had Dan Scarr and Cameron Norman most of the players mentioned above would get in this team being fair.Clarke wasn’t a shit manager he’s proven that everywhere but here.
To still be in with a shout you can’t knock him. First season as a manager….
I think a lot of teams have had the same. MKD lost 5-0 to Stockport who in turn were battered by Tranmere. Mansfield being battered 4-0 at home too.
It happens to them all, us included.
To be fair mate, our battering could be seen coming, a number of fans pointed it out well before kick off after seeing the team selection, that isn’t very good team management when your fans can see it coming BEFORE a ball is kicked
Its very true but expectations from our perspective are loaded with bias. Many would argue (outside of our club) top 7 for Walsall is an over achievement.
The reality is somewhere in between and I think for us to achieve meaningful success we need stability and unity across the whole football club. Fans, players, staff. I dont think Sadler will ever receive total backing at this club, he will always have his skeptics and thats not really his fault.
Results gloss over some of our deeper inadequacies such as our academy and youth recruitment. I think its in those where we find ourselves back as an established league one club… if we can.
This is all just the way I see it, I might be talking utter bollocks and will be up for any counter argument.
Richard O’Kelly has been the main factor in all of our victories as well as injuries, forcing Sadler to play the only players available.
Also Ben Boycott deserves credit for coming over earlier in the season and sticking a rocket up his arse.
What else? A couple of planets aligned before our win at Notts County and I made a few promises to satan before the recent good run of form.
All of the defeats and draws are of coarse Sadler’s fault, because had he played DJ in all of those games for the full 90 minutes, we would have won the league by now.
He’s stumbled to a fighting chance of a play off place in his rookie season.
But apart from all that, he’s not doing too bad.
Get rid
But people think Sadler is shite, even though he is getting a tune out of this squad. Funny that.
Yellow Ribbon Waffle.
Sounds delicious, like a lunchbox snack.
Thanks? I think?
Doing a better job than expected . But when he thinks DJT is a better option off the bench than DJ that really boils my piss tbh
Waffle.
I wouldn’t listen to the other episodes then, it’s pretty much all waffle
Enjoyed Kevin Wilson. Less Waffle. In all seriousness, Keep up the good content. More Walsall stuff out there the better.
Can see what Harley is saying are we ready for League one now if it did happen? I’m not so sure we are without significant investment that might not be the case given another season to grow and improve the squad i wouldnt want us to go up and get tanked every week like Carlisle have .
Barring the top 4 positions in the table as of today we are one of a dozen teams right down to 16th of which 2 wins or 2 defeats separate us all .i personally have never seen all season a Walsall performance that has convinced me in any way we are a promotion side this season .we have had really good wins .and loses but I say again we are a long way of a promotion challenging side that I want to see .win draw or lose .i actually think we’ve to some extent considering injuries punched above our weight at times .and rookie manager to boot ,and I can also go along with those who say Sadler hasn’t got the best out of this squad to some extent .i go back to the 2nd home match of the season our 2-1 win against Stockport .if I can go to a match next season and see we lose .but put a Stockport performance in .then we will be a team that’s going to challenge for promotion .hopefully that will be next season .weve done great to still be in with a chance of playoffs this season and it’s something the fans desperately deserve. Finally Sadler does deserve credit but so do the whole squad of players particularly some of the younger ones who were on the fringe and have really stepped up and dug the manager out when things could have gone the other way ,
Come on Chunk, last 20 50% win ratio, 25% drawn, 25% lost. That’s pratty good.
Pre December was a bit wobbly but that< i would suggest< was down to injuries.
