The bench just makes things worse.
Weir over Williams is strange.
What little optimism I had has disapated with that 18. Such little actual footballing quality and threat.
Mark Hughes made a comment about Doncaster’s pitch after the Carlisle game, saying it isn’t a good surface. Might explain the absence of ball players? Sadler rates Hall so I hope this is the reason and not another injury.
Completely set up to grind out a draw/not lose rather than to try and win, IMO.
Hall looked great on Saturday, to have either Tails or Weir in CM is suicidal for creativity.
Not just Hall’s energy, his football brain is light years ahead of our other midfielders. The best footballers play the game with their brain.
I didn’t expect him to start, but to not be on the bench is insane.
The line-up certainly squeezes the life out of any pre-match enthusiasm I had.
Nothing wrong with setting up to keep it tight, but little creativity and no one to change it if we concede early.
Having Hall or Chang on the bench would have made all the difference.
Sadler wants a 0-0.
I hope you’re right. Inexplicable otherwise.
Remind me,what’s the first line of sacked in the mornin,
I know it’s old news now and I’m stating the obvious but that feeling that teams have sussed us out springs to mind again - persisting with the same old selections and formations mean teams have us nailed (in terms of approach and playing style) from the get go…
Surely a basic benefit of changing things round is that at least it has the opposing manager guessing how we’ll set up and look to play….
Yawnfest selection. We did something similar a few weeks back and I said at the time if we go behind early with a really defensive selection we won’t have the ability to get back into it. I’m afraid that comment also relates to tonight.
Christ alive…
Screams of happy with a point that line-up does. On paper, even before the season started, this was one of the games that I thought was gonna be the hardest wherever we were in the table at the time. My worry is, if we go 1-0 down, whats the plan?
No Chang, Hall or Wheatley?
Baffling selection IMO.
Lets hope Amantchi can cause a bit of chaos. Not even sure he knows what he’s going to do do next but as long as the ball ends up in the net no one is bothered (unless its in our net that is).
Let’s see what happens, nobody will complain if we win but if we lose with Comley ahead of Hall and Chang then that leaves some deserved questions for the gaffer.
The only positive from that line up is that Asiimwe has been rewarded for his two performances whilst Barrett was suspended.
If we win tonight, it won’t be pretty.
Adomah on around 70 mins, DJ on around 86 mins. Possibly Lakin some time before that. That’s about it.
I guess Barrett could have an impact.
The standard like for like, double forward substitutions then mate.
Possibly two straight swaps in Midfield aswell.
We’re gonna end up with the same Midfield 3 that ended the game against Grimsby ay we…
Allen, Stirk and Comley.
Looking at that lineup, he doesn’t want to lose, or win.
I just tucked the owl up for the night.I have a feeling he won’t be needed.
