Draw for the F. A. Cup 1st round

That was a great night !

The big question - how do we watch it? On the iFollow website it is still saying they won’t be showing FA Cup games this season - https://www.efl.com/broadcast-schedule/

Doubt BBC or BT (who have the television rights again this season) will be broadcasting all games live so there has to be some agreement with someone else to do streams of those not chosen for TV if it’s not iFollow …

The FA site has this:

'…16 fixtures will be broadcast across domestic broadcast partners BBC and BT Sport, with the remaining 24 fixtures made available for live streaming by the host club in the UK. Further details will be announced in due course

So if it’s the host club rather than iFollow, does that mean Dan Mole with his iPhone again like the Burton friendly?

I hope that it will be available online - us Rovers fans seem a bit more up for this one than you are. There’s still a lot of love for DC, not to forget the Beard and Clarke. Should bring in a bit of much needed revenue for the clubs.

We’re pinning our hopes on the fact that Darrell never seemed too bothered about doing well in the Cups.

Well he has come to the right club then!!

I’ve been to see them. Good club with nice little clubhouse and decent ground (for that level - 4 below us).

First round losers to get 25% of the prize money as part compensation for lack of crowds.

Had crowds been allowed, it would have been a decent turn out at the Banks’s. Rovers would have brought a fair few with them.
When we manage to control COVID, the crowds will return in record numbers.

I do hope you are right about crowds returning, I am not convinced that things will ever be the same again.

I do wonder about that. You could be right, but it’s interesting. We’re a fairly keen bunch on here and probably want to get back ASAP, but there must be fans who are thinking “I’m not really missing it as much as I expected”, I don’t just mean Saddlers, but across all football. And then there will be those who have missed it but have lost their jobs and can’t afford to go.
And from a WFC point of view, when/if Covid restrictions end what if we are meandering along in 18th place in Division 4 (as I like to think of it), will that really set the pulses racing and have Gurroles flocking down the Wednesbury Road?

It will be fascinating to look back in 10 or 20 years time (if I live that long) and see what returned to normal and what changed for ever as a result of this thingy.

I was desperately missing watching us up until recently. That has diminished slightly . hard to predict but hope the longer this behind closed doors football goes on hope it doesn’t affect our already reduced support base .

Will be good crowds for the first few weeks (realistically August 2021) and then it will go back to normal levels I suspect especially away.

FTFY :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

Bonser will be oldest person ever by 100 years and still taking the rent by then.

I really don’t think they will.

I think we’ll see sell outs for a couple of games and then it will die back off.
