Great 2nd half of the season for the Drogs, really positive to see, and at this moment it looks like Trivela ownership may be paying for us both.

Fully expect them to be higher up the table next year.

Despite spending most of the season on or around the bottom of the table, they’ve ended it on a high retaining their Premier Division status, winning the Cup and qualifying for the Europa Conference League next season.

Contrast that to Derry City who spent most of the season in the top 3 and were looking in with a chance of being champions, to then slip out of the top 3 in the last 2 games when they got beat by St. Patricks meaning they overtook them for the last Europa Conference League place in the league, then lose the Cup and the European place for that too.

Funny old game.

You have indeed overlooked them also being the current holders of the highly regarded and much coveted Trivela trophy

Who knows - next year might be a three-way with Trivela FC Togo!

And as we well know, it’s never an easy place Togo.

4th in the Danish superliga.
That puts us as the second club in the group.

If you’re going on media exposure I’d say we are a distant third, Drogheda won a major cup final were on national live TV two weeks running and are playing in Europe, the Danish club plays in the Danish Premier League and are pretty decent .

Only advantage we have is we have an opportunity to one day be a championship or even a premiership club which would eclipse any of trivelas other clubs . We should be there main project always with that potential

With respect to the LOI, in terms of reputation and standing it’s probably only equivalent to a Baltic state league, or the Macedonian league etc. So unless you’re someone like Shamrock Rovers who can get into the group stages of a European competition fairly consistently, then playing in the EFL, especially L1 and above, would definitely be more of a draw for players.

I think it’s very easy to underestimate the strength of so called smaller leagues, having been fortunate enough to see a few games in Denmark, FC Copenhagen in particular I can assure you they are definitely not a small club , top notch stadium and a very passionate and vocal fan base.

That sponsor looks great.

I really liked Drogheda’s kit that they wore for their final.

Off the wall question, but how come the RoI league is over but the NI league is still going on???

RoI league has a Summer season, NI has the more traditonal winter season like us.

Republic switched to a summer season to lessen competition with the UK leagues. NI continue with a winter season.
