Early season takeaways

Three games in and we are starting to learn what the Lee Grant Walsall way will be. A different style of play, both going forward and at the back.

We look at what has impressed us and where we think there is still room for improvement in this new era at Walsall Football Club.

Good team that could do well if we invest in a decent striker I really like what I’ve seen so far but we can all see we lack a cutting edge.

We’ve clearly signed some decent players, but once again we are relying on our owners to come up with a striker.

It’s ridiculous that season after season we going into September without a goal scorer.

So unless they come up with something, I think we are at a huge risk of wasting the good work done by the management.

My local Indian takeaway/restaurant had scores of zero in the Food Hygiene Rating under two different owners. :face_vomiting:

My local Chinese takeaway changed hands a couple of years back and scored one in the most recent check, after years of getting fours and fives.

I don’t eat many takeaways.

Kanu, Lowe, Draper and DJ were all here before September.

Not going to argue over a couple of days which it was.

Point is these players didn’t make an impact until September.

Would agree with Lowe and Kanu, but if I remember correctly, DJ and Freddie were here at the start of the season.
Point is, there is still time, and it’s probably not the clubs’ fault, more likely that it’s just part of the end of window transfer dance where lots of things fall into place.
Fingers crossed we have kept back some budget, or can attract a good young loanee that will cost little.

I get your point mate, but there’s a good reason why we haven’t been promoted for 20 years.

And these issues season after season don’t help .

DJ scored a hat-trick on his debut, which was in July.
Lowe scored a league goal in August and a brace as we knocked Huddersfield out of the League Cup.
Draper also notched in August, Kanu is the only one who didn’t notch before September.

Ok brilliant let’s sign our strikers at the end of August/September, genius.

We already have strikers though. We are probably looking for one more (hopefully). The last day of August will be the busiest transfer day of the year, with loads of clubs completing their squads. Many of those players might only come available at that time as one coming in allows another to go out.

I would hope if it’s the quality of Lowe Drapper, Kanu ,they would have been earmarked long ago and it could be we are just waiting on there club sorting out there own requirements before it can happen .And not a deadline panic loan anybody which has happened in the past Amanchie comes to mind .

Eh?

One of which is that we weren’t relagated for 12 of them.
