I’m away in Blocko shopping and admiring the architectural wonders
Blocko- my ancestral home!!
Wonder if it was King Crods also
I’d love to know the actual attendance not including season tickets who don’t go
Don’t think I’m going to bother, will watch on ifollow in the comfort of my own home where I can get a drink far cheaper than those robbing yanks want us to pay.
Anyone to ask the Club for their season ticket money back for next year. That might give them more of a shock !!!
Tried that on Saturday. I’ve been told they’ll on consider it for medical reasons.
How about it is causing stress, anxiety and depression watching us play.
Some good points there Phil.
Just to come back on a couple of them.
I don’t think it would be easier to evict the football club, rather than own it and then move it due to the terms of the lease which now of course has been removed.
Also regards the ACV, this doesn’t actually do anything or make anything more difficult. It simply means, or in the case of Bescot meant that the Trust needed to be informed in the event of the land being sold and I believe they had 6 months to table an alternative bid. Interestingly Bonser informed Walsall Council of his intention to sell the freehold - ie as he was bound to do so under the terms of the ACV - sometime in the early part of 2022. This was confirmed in the club’s WPM of April 4th 2022 by Gamble in response to a question by Dave Beckett as can be seen here…
Specifically, SG said it’s a complex situation but we are moving along with it and are hopeful his can be achieved at some point in the future. In order to achieve this, we have to go through the ACV (Asset of Community Value) process, which has been commenced by the Landlord at the request of the Club. The landlord has written to the Council with notice of intention to dispose of the freehold. SG stated that this has to happen before the football club can then buy the freehold. DB then added and asked if this purchase of the freehold would be via outside investments or loans from the banks. SG said that this structure of this is yet to be finalised but it is likely to be a combination of both. SG reiterated that the club will announce more on this as and when possible but at this stage it is nothing more than part of the process.

So the wheels were in motion to buy the freehold before Trivela bought Walsall FC, and not as it would seem as something that occured after they bought Walsall FC as part of a developing plan for the club as they learn on the job, which is how it sounds when you listen to the narrative.
I’m starting to get insomnia in the evenings as I spend so much time being sent to sleep during the games.
Just wondering how many on here have had a change of heart about going today now MF has been sacked and O’Kellys back to help MS.
Be interesting to see how they both get the team to play and how they set us up now with the players we have.
Zero change of heart.
I am not disappointed/angry/disillusioned from the last few weeks, it’s the last 5 years. Abysmal.
I’m as disillusioned if not more.
Not one top 10 finish in 7 seasons and only 3 in 16, with this board is all we need to know & believe me I have low expectations. Another rinse & repeat season, need change, new ideas & tangible plan.
Sacking in a manager who has won 1 in 20 & bringing in a fan favourite for 3 games is hardly decisive leadership. Club is a circus.
Just hope they aren’t throwing another club legend under the bus to cover their arses again, we’ve seen it before.
When I woke up earlier I felt a little less unenthusiastic about coming to the match than I have for a few months, so I guess that’s some kind of progress.
I ge
I get it that supporters are restless (being polite).
I see the SLO at away games and he never seems to interact with the fans as far as I can see but I could be wrong.
We’ve had several poor seasons a succession of manager’s new owners and still nothing to get excited about on the pitch.
I suppose in fairness the freehold and saddlers club due to open in the future is a good start, actually it’s a brilliant start but after that I hope the new owners cast their eyes at the board because there needs to be a cull at some point.
The manager will always pay the price for failure but we’ve had a succession of managers fail and it certainly makes me wonder why. When will the board take responsibility too.
I don’t particularly have an issue with Mr Pomlett but messrs Mole, Whittaker and smug looking Gamble need shifting out to pastures new.
I understand that there’s a criteria for the position of slo but it would make more sense to me if that person was elected by the fanbase instead of being foisted on us aka the old pals act.
Emailed the SLO this morning.
Hi Graham,
Could we please see a ‘lick’ of paint around the stadium through preseason.
When the friendlies started last year I was quite disappointed to see the stadium look so tired, no-one could even be bothered to paint the fading yellow lines. It may seem a small thing but in reality it’s another ‘it’ll do’ mentality.
Regards
Stephen
Got a swift reply.
Hi Stephen, I am surprised to hear this as there has been painting throughout the season.
I will however make the point to the stadium team concerning the yellow lines and your general comment for the work to be done in close season.
Also emailed the club and Dan.
P.s was just a little bug bear of mine that they had 2 months and thought it didn’t need doing.
Had this reply from Dan.
I thought the hatched yellow lines were there to say not standing or loitering? But apparently they serve no purpose whatsoever.
Nice reply, good that this was timely. Confusing about the hatching marks but, since he is in charge of this and presumably has knowledge of latest best practice, I’ll defer. I’d have though that having them to denote “non standing” areas would be a good idea but, thinking about other stadiums (not just football) I have been in recently, I didn’t see any such hatching marks so maybe they are a thing of the past.
