If we are talking last season if Matt showed the form he is showing now and didn’t get injured and Steven’s had returned to form quicker we would most likely made play offs last season.
They didn’t so we didn’t, bad luck, gamble that didn’t pay off, poor management poor recruitment or sold a pup those are the breaks
Let’s hope the footballing gods are kinder to us this season
Ego? You’ve tried to belittle other posters to peacock about being right. No provoking - just a random attack to boost your own ego
“Oooh I was right ! I was right!”
Sad and pathetic.
How’s McEntee doing in midfield this season?
not seen you on keir starmers barmy army or have you and manc realised that it is as the thread title.
Pointless, like the Covid thread my friend.
We will find out tomorrow.
Don’t blame me
I was just a bit bored and come across the thread and thought I’d have another look.
I think anyone who takes up a managerial role in whatever career might be absolutely confident in their beliefs in how to chart a path to success.
However, many things can prevent that happening as quickly as you’d like, due to resource or circumstance, but the best leaders plough on in their belief, changing things as and when they can.
Others will judge you, have all the answers, believe things should change quicker, but will never be aware of the challenges to overcome in the background.
Very rarely do you find a straight path to success.
I think Sadler is proving himself to be a very astute leader
Done well in the couple of cameo appearances when he’s been brought on to beef things up in the middle and see out games.
Good grief, we top of the league by some distance, playing some get you out of your seat football at times, and we have to regurgitate old post’s to try and embarass people. The whole object of the forum is to air view’s, and opinions, some of which we may not agree with.
Are you a school teacher by anychance?
.
Spot on.
This is my favourite
PS @Thanatos, lighten up, it’s only a bit of fun
Nah it’s bollox. Just admit you were wrong, take your medicine, and stop blarting like a spoilt babby.
For Thanny by the way.
It’s just a loff
It would be if he wasn’t so full of himself though.
They just googled past players, probably no clue
Truth is somewhere in the middle as always those professing all this success current form and league position was just round the corner “ I told you So’s”. As bad as the doomsters .don’t think anyone could have predicted what’s happened up to YET, don’t think it’s a requirement on UTS that you have be absolutely right or wrong is it ? Little bit of mud on your face is good for the complexion isn’t it .must be some right ugly mugs on here .
I no doubt come out with a lot of things last season that would look a bit silly now. I don’t really care to be honest. I am just buzzing with what we are watching.
A lot said last season we needed someone better at right wing back to provide for Matt and co. Barrett, fixed.
A lot said we needed more legs in midfield. Lakin, Jellis, fixed.
A lot said Daniels wasn’t good enough anymore, fair play to Sadler for sticking with the players that have earned the shirt. Not even Mcentee has walked back in. Maybe if it hadn’t been for the MK disaster last season he would have gone with Daniels for a while. Learning on the job is important.
I realise we haven’t achieved anything yet, but what we are doing is off the scales. We haven’t bankrolled this like some other clubs have. Careful planning and recruitment. I won’t care one bit if I was wrong if I am trying to climb Sister Dora to get my Dad’s scarf on it.
So it’s not a laugh? You’re actually trying to try to belittle him because you’ve decided that he’s arrogant?
I can’t understand that myself and don’t think it reflects well on the people doing it.
We’re all like-minded Walsall fans who care enough to spend time on a forum and all see things differently.
I’m right about some things, wrong about others but I don’t hold vendettas against posters with different views.
Might still come up if Sadler leaves for another club before the end of the season
I’m happy to be proved wrong, the defence has been sorted this was a massive issue, genuine question (I ain’t trawling through 8 month old posts to look at any of your previous replies if any) but do you think any of this seasons success would have been possible if Richard O’Kelly wasn’t overseeing matters?
It’s a great time to be a saddler and since attending my first game in the early 1980s I don’t ever remember us being so far clear, imo for this to happen every single one of the backroom staff as well as Matt Sadler deserve the credit for this but also Trivela for laying the foundations.
Like I said I’m genuinely happy to be proved wrong but I’m certain around that time a poll took place and about 70% wanted him gone, no one if they’re honest foresaw us being top of the league in December let along running away with it, in fact whilst scrolling through 8 month old posts did anyone predict this ?
