End of Season Report Card - Walsall Football Club 23/24

@WalsallOne Crawley got it right ?

Look at the league table and reason why it’s acceptable for us to finish below the sides we did. It wasn’t acceptable. Simple.

Was it acceptable to those fans who go and clap their hearts out regardless ? Yes they lapped it up. Don’t expect us all to love it though. It was rubbish.

Glad it’s being rectified.

Don’t think he’ll agree with that.

Are we really saying Sadler stumbled across the success of this season, nothing to do with the foundations that were laid last season and all the coaching at the training ground and targeted recruitment over the last 18 months.

Madness.

No, i see he wanted to play this way last year.

Didn’t suit us.

He stumbled across that back three and I think a few times he’s tried to reintroduce “first choices” it doesn’t quite work. I made the point that even the world’s best stumble on solutions. That solution isn’t the only reason for our success but it’s the cornerstone of it.

Can’t fault how this team plays or is set up this season.

In defence of stretch he has gone from zero to hero, did lady luck smile on him a little.

He dragged himself from zero to hero by addressing the rubbish he put together last season with some help from Lady Luck yes

There is a lot of truth that Saddler has stumbled into success. Key to Saddler’s vision for the team was Josh Gordon, Daniels and Priestley. If they had not suffered long-term injuries, the evidence is that they would have been automatic picks. The presence of these players would have led to us scoring fewer goals and letting more in. I suspect we would be outside if the play-offs.
Saddler has also been fortunate in the brilliance of Lowe. Just as David Kelly single handedly won promotion for Coakley, Lowe is pretty much doing the same for Saddler.

Yep. We were.

What a sad post. You’ve actually gone back and looked for that ?

Jesus :joy:

Nice to see you haven’t changed your arrogant ways

Sadler waited and waited to get Lowe. Good planning me thinks.

You sad, sad little man.

You’ve left it to the last day to 2024 for worst post of the year.

Wasn’t me who brought the thread up :man_shrugging:

Just a bit tickled when I read how wrong you were

We are doing considerably well with a very average manager and players.

Hmm looks like Thanatos has a lot of competition with himself for silliest post of the year.

And where are Crawley now? They got lucky for one season. If we go up we already have the basis for a good division 1 team .For the first time in a long time we have a number of players who will be comfortable at that level .I am amazed that folk still see the need to criticise and go over old ground. Let us look ahead and see who we recruit this January and in the Summer to push us to new levels.

You know this was last season… right?

I was spot on. What a pathetic bunch of posts. Not real Walsall fans for me.

Oh get over yourself and your massive ego. Can never admit you are wrong can you, even when you are so obviously wrong.

No he didn’t.

You do realise we still have the same very average manager and majority of the same average players from last season.

Oh and the same very average style of play.
