Maybe I wasn’t clear. Would you play the rest of the season with McEntee starting as the other 8 in this system?
I wouldn’t be against him having a run of games to see how he gets on.

In games like today he’s an option off the bench to freshen up what was clearly a very tired midfield. Definitely wouldn’t start him in midfield as the balance we’ve had this season with stirk, lakin and JJ(occasionally earing) has clearly worked. That’s why it’s imperative we improve that area in the transfer window with likely injuries for the foreseeable future to Hall and Earing

We only looked a very “ tired” side in the first half because we were chasing shadows because the ball wasn’t sticking up front .makes a hell of a difference to your midfield players .once Sadler sorted this at half time with his subs did we look a tired side NO we ran them of the park .couldn’t live with us.

For me McEntee performed very well today after coming on and in certain games it is obvious how he can be effectively used in CM.
Would I start him here regularly over Lakin and Jellis? No. I don’t think I’d have him as first choice sub over the likes of Earing etc.
Interesting situation with McEntee. Currently 4th/5th choice centre half but proving a really good strategic option in midfield when we need to elevate the press.
Never liked the idea of him as a midfielder but he’s showed his worth in the right scenarios and MS definitely appreciates the undoubted value there.
Question is whether he sees him as a starter or an impact sub and how that will affect how we recruit this month with Hall and likely Earing out and Jellis in-particular looking tired.
Still not convinced on Comley, so strengthening our reserve in central midfield seems critical.

I think the qualities the other two bring are more akin to Earing than Mcentee.
But he has a role in there
