Expectations For The 2024/25 Season

Honestly I haven’t saw much animosity towards Trivela bar a few select posters. The minority always seem to be more vocal. Trivela are still new to this game and granted, having LP as a mentor isn’t what most wanted, but I slowly think they’re identifying what is needed. Yes we had positive phases under Bonser, but I’d rather BB than JB anyday of the week. They’ve come in and made good on their promises, bar the team progressing (although they did say incremental progress). This though was always going to be the most difficult to achieve though.

This summer has been far from perfect and they’re never going to please everyone, but let’s hope the next few weeks can/will show significant improvement to the squad as it currently stands.

On a positive note, the togetherness and team spirit I saw from the lads last night was off the charts

Surely gets you a lot of the way there

Was just thinking of that good old song that brings people together

" one go down we all go down we all go down together" :joy:

The doom monger is the worst kind of monger for me, worse even than the fish monger, the iron monger and the war monger.

But a monger is always better than a minger

Sadler had a full season to develop into management and everything that goes with it. That doesn’t mean you stop learning and developing in your trade, but the lessons from last season need to be taken onboard this coming season and he needs to progress as does the team. If not the club needs to go in a different direction with its manager. We can’t have another season of treading water.

It’s people like you who fuel that animosity.

You have no clue what will happen and just love to spend all of your time being the doom-monger you claim you don’t want to be.

You call it “realism” but it’s just your pessimistic perception of things you’re not even remotely sure about.

If you knew what was going on behind the scenes, maybe you would have some credibility.

But you don’t!

A ball hasn’t even been kicked and here you are bleating on about relegation battles.

Granted I don’t know what’s going to happen. But having had months to secure the players needed I have little faith that it’s going to happen now. That’s my considered opinion
squad as it stands could easily be in a relegation battle. Interestingly some others think the same also

We still haven’t replaced Hutch either Lakin isn’t a 10 he’s an 8 so are Earing and Jellis.

You are entitled to your opinion and I am sure others agree. But there are many who disagree with you.

I do have some sympathy with this view. Why do we always leave it so late to get the players in that we are in desperate need of? We can’t really be going into the start of the season with Matt and Gordon as our strike force, can we? One’s crocked and is immobile, and the other, to poach a phrase from El Nombre, couldn’t finish a wank! Why have we sent DJT on loan - he’s better than both Matt and Gordon! We need new strikers in this week!

Or alternatively, if we had a proper scouting network we could have been in the market to pick up …for example …Draper and Faal when they were 16/17 when the former was released by Derby and the latter was spotted playing at Sutton Coldfield Town, having also previously played junior football in the Walsall Junior Youth League.

It really shouldn’t be. Crowds hovering around 5k now so that must be top half given many of the teams at this level.

All of Mansfield, Wrexham, Stockport gone from this level so while the teams coming down will have decent budgets I can’t believe Cheltenham or Fleetwood are anything close to their wage budgets so will be more aligned to this club’s budget…surely.

I’d love to know the 12 clubs who do have bigger budgets and then surely questions needed to be asked.

Would that be the 4,500-5,000 fans attending games or the echo chamber of a handful of Cassandras on UTS? I’ve always wondered how representative those who shout the loudest really are. Just taking the dozen or so who sit with WalsallOne and myself I’ve not heard anyone want Sadler gone so far in his tenure.

Neither have i…I know a number who don’t sit by us who have doubts about him but all want him to succeed.

I think it is more than that personally, or at least it was.

Remember the game we were 3-0 down at half time, I can’t even remember who it was now, Newport possibly. 2/3 of the lower tier were singing we want Sadler out. The general feeling I got around that time was not many were really behind him.

Things improved though and we at least gave a glimpse of being capable so maybe it has changed a bit since then. I hope so, I really want him to do well but do fear fans will turn very quickly.

Where do you sit? The tea and biscuits ?

I love a chocolate hobnob.

You weren’t at Alfreton then.

The fact you think Walsall do not require or deserve 110% of their attention and investment is strange
