Chav Central is very polite. I spent a fair bit of time in Sittingbourne and the opinion there was more along the lines of inbred freaks.
I can remember going for an afternoon pint a few times after swimming at Sheerness baths, back in the day when I was heavily into my swimming and wherever I went I’d always seek out the local pool to get my swim in. Can’t exactly remember the name of the pub, might have been the Queens or something, it was literally the worst pub I’ve ever been in. I can remember having to drink John Smiths because it was the only thing that they served on draft that was fit for human consumption. Permenant afternoon karaoke fueled by bottles of stella and blue pop poured into plastic glasses. Used to quite like the Playa though up on the “seafront”, often used to head up there to get away from any visiting brats on family occasions, usually closely followed by my then male inlaws. They used to serve a nice pint of Shepherd Neame bitter, or as the locals called it “shit and scream”, due to its alleged laxative tendencies.
My ex father in law was also drummer in various bands, including a local Chas and Dave tribute, and then later a country and western group which played a line dancing club every New Year’s eve…my God.
That’s enough to make her an ex for sure.
Awful draw - massive banana skin!
Or at least I hope not, I was there that day at Slough.
The burning question is, which is the more difficult ground to go to. The AGP Arena Stadium, Billericay or The Total Power Stadium, Sheppey?
Hopefully, @KingCrod can enlighten us?
things that worry me about this one
- Artificial pitch. Leveller.
- Mat Sadlers self titled horses for courses approach which creates problems
- This teams stomach for a fight
- Our lack of interest and effort in cups this season.
- Both potential opponents have battled there way this far and we know how this team reacts to “tough physical challenges”
Just hope Quality from Hutch and Co & Us bring Full Time makes this the formality we’d like it to be.
Did you see the Blackburn game, ?
Be interesting to see what the allocation would be if Sheppy won and played at their home ground. they’d only be obliged to give us c300 tickets maybe less with segregation
Losing narrowly 4-3 to a top half Championship (last season) side with some really good goals scored is not lack of interest or effort in cups imo. It’s giving it a really good go and just being edged out by much higher league team.
A cert for live tv though surely?
They only get 200 fans.
If they could only sell say, 500, stadium holds 1400, so we could possibly take 800 max.
A club like them woukd be silly to turn down 500 or so ticket sales from us.
yeah thats true, though the whole town usually turns out in circumstances like these. Be interesting to see what the attendance is tomorrow
you’re forgetting wrexham, salford and the like are in the competition, but yeah you’d think so
Playing a weak starting xi is not taking a cup competition or your opposition seriously.
Just because we ran them close does not mean we took it seriously. They were there for the taking.
Is this the same Blackburn that beat Cardiff 5-2?
All managers make changes for first round of a cup competition, especially so early in the season.
Daniels, McEntee (at CB), Allen all started and Foulkes was playing the league games at the time.
Tierney and Stirk also started so I’d say a core of 5-6 regulars starting is good enough.
Plenty of things to criticise Sadler for this season. Giving the odd fringe player a run out at Blackburn isn’t one of them.
You cant even say their team was a whole lot weaker. Nial Ennis up front is a 1mil worth striker.
Foulkes worked incredibly hard and gained an assist, towards the end of the game had DJs effort gone in i would of fancied us winning overall. We came very close!
DJT didnt look awful up front on his own either but was enhanced massively when Oteh came on.
Walsall fans with away history should get priority over any local glory hunters.
