FA Cup Round 1

No footy this weekend but something to look forward to on Monday evening, the first round draw of the FA Cup on BBC2 at 7pm.

We are ball number 45 and will be joined by the final qualifying round winners. Rushall anyone? Or Tamworth or Hednesford (Gensex will be beside himself with that one!)?

Take your pick:

As a Shelfield lad, (just on the border btw) I would love to see Rushall in the first round draw. If we are pulled out of the hat with them that would be great for the area and would mean a lot of publicity and possibly TV interest. Everone’s a winner. Otherwise I just want someone we don’t usually play, (Non-leage or L1) to generate a bit of interest.

Someone from a higher league - to give us more of a chance (like in the other competitions so far ).

If we get rushall how are we going to stop their fans getting into our end?

Up until 1997 Wales was legally part of England, it was only after 1997 and formation of the Welsh parliament that Wales once again became it’s own Country.

Prior to 1997 an official postal address in Wales would have been

Street Address
Suburb
Town / City
County / Municipality
Wales
England
Great Britain
United Kingdom

A sad day for the people of Wales when they lost the right to be both Welsh and English

Not sure that local derby would appeal to many outside the area.

Weirdly a subject we didn’t learn at school bar one year .

Would love us to get Rushall, Tamworth, Kidderminster. Away games - Weymouth, Weston s Mare if they win there games or a trip up to Blackpool

Birmingham away, turn them over in front of 20,000.

Notwithstanding the England thing, you forgot Sheffield Wednesday.

Think it would coverage due to giant killing possibility.

Blues would be good. Swindon away too, as that would bring back good memories of our 4-0 there earlier this season.

A trip to the seaside would be good: Blackpool, Fylde or a 6-2 revenge over Fleetwood.

Fancy Kiddy away, would get a decent allocation for that compared to the other local non league grounds.

Somewhere different - really enjoyed Kings Lynn a couple of years ago. Somewhere like York, Scarborough, Weymouth, or Bath would be good.

Likewise Rushall, Kiddy, or a trip to see Gensanx would also be cracking.

Think we’ll probably end up with a home draw this time around though, probably against someone like Wigan.
