That’s interesting. I’m not aware of that side of him, but I do know he left the club in his second spell because of a falling out. He was manager for less than a year after I started supporting us.
I also went to St Michaels, probably a bit later than yourself given the names you just mentioned.

He was fiery, unpredictable and an outspoken critic of football club hierarchies, so other clubs probably avoided him. We took him back because of his previous success – some might say previous miracle – at Fellows Park in the early 60s.
