Must seem familiar for him.

Same, I have not hate for Flynn at all, seemed a genuine bloke and it could have worked out. Swindon though, they can do one.

Apparently they’ve got no money to buy or replace them either they can only afford loans

Talking to a STFC fan who feared that due to an EFL investigation into financial issues that they might have a points deduction (Everton got minus 10) and a transfer embargo
If we want Hutton the business might need to be done before that happens presuming it effects sales as well as purchases, might scupper DJ going there as well
I have no inside knowledge just a pint and a chat

Same with me Mark. It was the correct decision in my view to get rid, but that’s nothing personal, it just didn’t work out.

In big trouble. They last kept a clean sheet on 14th October so losing the two star forwards at same time and they will continue dropping down the table and he’s probably only a few weeks off a Harrogate type game and result.

Probably only job left for him in football league is a sentimental return to Newport and then if it goes wrong there it’s non league management or punditry.

Damaging for his career failing here and at Swindon in the space of a year Newport is looking like it was lightning in a bottle for him.

Swindon town fans in melt down with regards to some of Flynn’s comments, worth a browse just for a giggle… “thetownend”…

I’m more interested in us than Swindle

I know, sorry. I was only on there to see if there was anything to go with another point made on another thread on here and I got to trawling through their forum and got distracted. My apologies :face_holding_back_tears:

I’ve watched a few of his interviews and word for word they’re like ours last season. Long may it continue

He’s now had three very bad runs in a season and a half. The last two at least big enough to get a manager the sack without raising any eyebrows. With hindsight, he might think the Swindon job came too quickly and gave him no time to recover. These runs must take their toll on a manager. Probably his last EFL job now. One failure people make allowances for, but not failing at two clubs in such quick succession.

Rumours, and they are just that, he’s gone again. Surely he can’t survive another sacking if true can he? They both need to go their own ways and start over again from the bottom or go into some other job…

I don’t think there’s any hard feelings from us to Flynn, but what we see play out on social media are spats between two groups.

Flynn had a bit of a fan club. I know he did some great stuff for people off the park but this fan club seemed to think he couldn’t do much wrong and that our demise last season was solely down to us not signing Johnson in January. At the start of this season when Swindon were flying high the fan club, especially on Twitter were in full voice. The P.E Teacher nonsense aimed at Sadler, whilst Swindon being top “can’t believe we sacked Flynn for him”. etc etc.

Now I’m still no great fan of Sadler but I just don’t know how anybody at any point could have felt that sacking Flynn and Hatswell was a mistake. Flynn and the squad gave up. It was unforgivable in my eyes and yet we still had people cheerleading him and using Danny Johnson as a free pass for everything that happened post January.

I think I’d much prefer a pint with Flynn than Sadler and he did seem a great bloke who deeply cared.

He just wasn’t and still isn’t good enough.

On the other hand i think he did some decent work here. right time to go really but i still fail to believe he would be any worse of here than Sadler has done. Albeit in a different way.

I really couldnt be arsed with his 8 at the back stuff though, i think hes even realised that at Swindon. He loves to mention his poor budget well Swindon might just be able to give him another piss poor budget. A solid league two manager nothing more nothing less. I still think this level is half luck on the day half preperation.

Heard the players liked Flynn but a lot didn’t like Hatswell as he was a bit of an arsehole wish him all the best decent bloke but this is a disaster for his career now.

After ive said all that there are some weird rumours about them two just being pissheads floating about. And the fact they love Wales and commute 64 hours away doesnt really scream commitment to me.

Think the main thing about that was some said if they knew we were going to appoint Sadler they would’ve kept Flynn or something along those lines?
