Former players - where are they now?

That is a bit harsh. Supporters were not unhappy with either appointment. Clearly the appointments did not work out for us but that may have been for other reasons.

If we had not had Trivela, I suspect we would have appointed someone else other than Sadler.

There’s a lesson to be learned here never employ a ex Walsall manager .

Taylor was named interim manager at Swindon Town
He’s double jinxed poor bloke :joy:

Is the other Matt Taylor still without a job? Maybe, they could replace Matt Taylor with Matt Taylor. Also, Matt Taylor isn’t getting much game time at Forest Green, so Matt Taylor could be Matt Taylor’s first signing.

Forest Green could then sign Matt to replace Matt…

I’ll get my coat…

EDIT: just discovered that the ‘real Matt Taylor decent football manager’ is now Bristol Rovers manager. My original post was full of GAS anyway, though

I feel for Matt Taylor
Really wanted him to do well
Lovely respectful caring handsome guy
Deserves a bit of luck

Brentford did not do so badly, nor did Port Vale in the short term.

Buckley did well at Grimsby. Any others?

Dosh did well at Cambridge, a promotion and winning the F A Trophy.

Was thinking more in terms of failures at Walsall and sacked .Buck was sacked caught up in Weldon / Ramsdon era although saying that the guy that followed Tommey Coakley did ok

Definitely worth a Butchers

Freddie started again for Lincoln in their 0-0 draw against Derby.

Played well so i hear.

I thought he was overshadowed by Joe Taylor tbh.

Freddie had a couple of physical tussles but didn’t offer much else and definitely showed no real goal threat albeit against a very good side.

Draper is clearly a talent. People were saying there was no point him being recalled in January just to warm the bench but Lincoln put him straight in their team so they realise he’s someone who can get them up the league and eventually a decent cash windfall once he fills out a bit more.

He’ll be playing in the championship in next 18 months I think and then no reason he can’t achieve what Adebayo has in last 4 years.

As for Taylor…he did well to get a league 1 job based on his stint here. Nice guy but no plan B when things went wrong so looks like the same happened at the Sloppies after a good start.

Reality is they overachieved last season being in top 10 so they were always going to drop down the league once Cotterill went.

Like Flynn the next job he takes is critical as very few managers survive three sackings in a short space of time unless you’re a Mourinho type who has a past record to fall back on.

A mate of mine is a Shrewsbury fan it was basically a carbon copy of his time here seems he hasn’t learnt from past mistakes.

Needs to go back to being a Cat 1 academy coach to build back up his reputation.

I can’t even see him managing a league 2 team with his record.

Harvey Griffiths on the bench for the dingles tonight. Bizarre that they think so highly of him, yet he couldn’t get a game for us.

There was talk about him not being physically ready when he came Sadler mentioned it once, what I don’t know is if he meant he wasn’t fit enough or wasn’t robust enough for the league.

Once he was if wolves rate him so highly surely it must be an attitude issue as players on the bench in the prem would surely be better than starters in league 2?

If I’m doing our own players a dis service then I don’t mean to just doesn’t make sense to me, unless the Dingles are sticking him on the bench for experience as part of his development with no intention of bringing him on.

Maybe he suits the less physical nature of higher leagues?good enough for wolves in a technical league but can’t handle league 2?

Well, he did come on a few times and looked out of his depth. I am amazed that a PL team (even the Wolves) would even consider playing him.
