Gillingham (A) Saturday March 22nd, 3pm

I’m on holiday with the wife. We’re staying in the lovely Kent village of Chilham. Which is about half an hour from the Gillingham ground. When I heard that the match was going ahead I thought of booking an extra day at a B&B, but unfortunately my daughters have arranged a day out with the wife on the Saturday the day after we get home. So foiled again. It looks like it will be a long time before I get to see the Saddlers again. Hope we win all the games I’m going to miss. Come on me babbies

Comley - please no
Williams, Allen, McEntee
Uncle Albert and Wier
Jellis, Chang, Lakin
Matt & Harrison
Wheatley and Lipsuic on bench

If we lose and AFC W win, next weeks 6 pointer with ATC having a better GD.
Donny P_P for Saturday but playing Carlisle next week.
Its looking more of a must win on Saturday.
Bradford can’t go top this week unless the score for fun

It’s always “If we lose”

Wimbledon are going through a mixed patch of results at the moment (won 2 and lost 3 of their last 5) and Barrow have taken 7 points from their lat 3 games. I’ll take Barrow to win this one at home and we’ll win against Gillingham so no worries!

I’ll be in Kent but at Chatham Docks

Is this the corrrect decision.Playing with so many unavailable players an important match.

It’s a punt playing this with the amount of players unavailable. Get why we are with fixture congestion etc. Hope and praying for a sneaky 1-0 win and the confidence that will bring into a massive 3 games after that. Hopefully it works out!!

Poor 1-1 draw for me

Since the EFL did not want us to play on Tuesday 29th April during the last week of the season, the best available alternative would have been the Tuesday of Holy Week, which would have meant games on Saturday 12th, Tuesday 15th, Friday 18th and Monday 21st April.

I think we can understand why the club did not want the players to face that amount of fixture congestion at the end of a long season.

So while it is a gamble, it was an understandable decision. With good performances from the replacements, it could change our fortunes.

Gills don’t concede many and our defence is shot, so hard to imagine us winning right now.

1-1 draw I reckon.

Draw

We will do our usual and concede a sloppy goal in first 20 mins

I agree with a couple of the above, I think this has a draw written all over it.

Shit, might have to play our consistently best midfielder in his correct position

I take it you don’t mean Comley!! :joy:

A 1-1 draw would be a good result for me. But I’ll be optimistic and go for a 2-1 win.

Bench?

Yes, that’s Comley’s best position. My team for Saturday:

Hornby - Adomah- McEntee, Williams, Weir - Allen - Jellis, Stirk, Laikin - Matt, Amantchi

Subs: Barrett (G), Asiimwe, Browne, Comley, Chang, DJ, Harrison (if fit)

I wonder if Farquharson might be fit - we need some reinforcements. I’m not sure who comes in if Harrison isn’t fit.
