I thought it was Barnsley, I also thought it was 0-0 when Walker got sent off but we took the lead after but ended up losing 4-1. Some or none of that may be correct though! It is the same game you mentioned I am thinking of I am sure though.
Jimmy was sent off against Barnsley when he rushed from his box and handled the ball so you are right about that and the 4-1 loss, but I can’t remember the score at the time of the dismissal, although I think we hadn’t conceded at that point. Might be wrong though. He was replaced by Marshy as custodian. I think Sheron and Shipperley were two of the scorers for Barnsley.
My memories are usually close but I often get bits wrong.
I remember the Northampton game you mentioned earlier now too. It had slipped from my mind. I drove that game which was rare, I hate driving to away games but for some reason that I can’t remember, our usual minibus at the time didn’t go that day. Unfortunately, my Dad hated driving to away games even more than me, and he was the boss I guess. Walker going off had slipped my mind, but I do seem to recall John Hodge having a very good game.
I remember that Warnock was their manager. I don’t think he’s managed Barnsley. I think you’re right about us only taking the lead after Walker went off. From what I remember, we looked the better team for a while, but burnt ourselves out. Walker got fined for the card. Graydon said post-match he should have realised letting in a goal was the lesser evil.
No logic other than good things happening when Sadler has less choices.
Our good run last year was because Daniels and Farquerharson being out led to a brilliant back three that he inexplicably broke up when Daniels returned.
This season, he was preferring Gordon to Lowe before Josh was injured and the absence of Comley and Mcentee led to the very settled three in midfield that had the good run with George and Jack as extremely handy back up.
So I’m hoping that a formula Sadler would never have thought of, is found and we win 2-0.
Could really do with a win today, we won’t keep getting away with Bradford and others not catching us up. I’ve been fairly relaxed about it since the end of our winless run, but starting to feel a bit more stressed now
Win would be really useful, especially ahead of the next 3 games.
