It will be great to have Captain Fantastic back. He’s a leader of men and exactly the sort of influence we need on the pitch at the moment. Clean sheets have been incredibly difficult to come by recently. He will give the other players, staff and supporters a huge lift.
Each to their own Crod but we kept quite a few clean sheets without him, is “ Captain Fantastic “ a marvel fictional comic character? Which sums up his tag quite well in my opinion, he’s had his time here time to move him on in the summer along with Earing, Priestley, they won’t be fit enough for hopefully League 1 more culling required if we are to survive in higher division.
I don’t think you have said a lot wrong there. I have made similar points.
I think some have forgotten the disaster of what happened when Daniels came back in last season.
Great player for us in the past? Yeah, Great bloke? Definitely. What we need right now? I don’t think so, only in emergencies.
I agree about Hall, too.
Bringing on DD for the last 15 mins to organise and shore up the defensive would be a good option imho, he might not be fit enough to start though
Also I would suggest ifDD was on the pitch the final minutes of the Cheltenham game we wouldn’t have conceded those two goals
Don’t think there’s an injured player who could return and actually make that much difference only player I know who could do that would be someone called Lowe he’s sitting on a bench as fit as fiddle somewhere else unfortunately …just hope Harrrison not out long ,any news on him anyone?
They might be waiting to see what the results look like today before deciding
I agree .DD would be a big help to the young defenders we have. He would probably be on the bench and would come on to help see out the game. I wouldn’t offer him a contract for next season but he could be very useful in the few games left this season.
A week to go and no decision what good is that to fans plans, so what was the point of calling them off earlier in the season when it was international call ups when we was fresher and fitter, i know the Gillingham game on was one can’t remember the other that was called off and the Gills game should of been home game so potentially loss of revenue from Saturday to Tuesday, they should let fans know earlier than this
If we play without Gordon, it will be Allen at LWB and Weir as LCB. Allen does not have Gordon’s pace but he is a better crosser of the ball. I have no qualms about Weir playing. A back three of Oisin, Harry and Evan is far from awful, with Allen able to move inside in case of injury.
If Gordon gets called up, we have the three players missing to allow us to postpone the Gills game.
Will we though? They seem happy to play without key players. Crazy in my view, and if we lose, well this site will likely explode!!
And if we win?
Obviously, Mat will have “stumbled” on a winning team selection
I would have been more on the side of playing the game.
However, Hornby scared the life out of me the other night. Not that the goals were his fault in anyway, but there were too many times he needed to come and collect the ball and didn’t. Too many times where he flapped. Seemed so nervous.
If as some have suggested he was picked with the Gillingham game in mind, it may well change Sadler’s mind towards postponing (if possible)
Apparently the game can’t be played on the Tuesday before Crewe.
So it’s either play the game next week or move it to a Tuesday before say Harrogate, but then we’d have to play Saturday - Tuesday - Friday - Monday.
I accept that’s happened before!!
Ah, wasn’t aware of this. Does make the decision slightly more difficult with Easter fast approaching.
Play it after Crewe when we’ll know what we have to do re the result.
Got lucky with his team selection due to missing players
Seems mad to me we still don’t know if this game is happening. Or do we just assume it is as there has been no announcement.
Travelling fans an afterthought again.
Yes but tbf we have been told that an announcement will be most likely Sunday
