Grimsby Town (H) 12th September, 3.00pm

Deserved that win, should have been dead before they hit the post. Thought Norman was outstanding as was Osedebe when he came on.

McDonald had a much better second half too.

Happy days!

Very impressed overall. Just need to be more ruthless and put teams away.

Norman MOM for me.

Get in. Wouldn’t be the same if we didn’t make it difficult for ourselves. Played well and deserved the win. Osadebe impressed. We’re on our way. UTS.

Fantastic start. We were a lot more entertaining in the second half, McDonald, Holden/Osadebe and Adebayo all linked up well.

Would have taken two wins and a draw considering two opponents were in a higher league!

A word of caution … Harrogate Town have started their League 2 career with a thumping 0-4 away win, so guess where we are playing next Saturday ??? Harrogate, naturally!!!

Very encouraging, well done the lads.

And in other news Andy Cook couldn’t hit a barn door with a machine gun as Mansfield fire a blank with 18 shots at goal 3 on target.

Forgot what that winning buzz was like

Take that.

The strength of our squad versus theirs meant we got stronger with the subs and they got weaker. Hopefully that is a sign of things to come because we do have depth where others don’t.

We should have ultimately killed it off by scoring a second and third and very nearly paid the price for not being clinical enough.

But another opening day win against a decent fourth division side bodes well.

Plenty of promising signs and one or two worrying ones.

Shame I’m not now in the car, jauntily joining the M6. This is no way to experience football.

Squeaky rectum time at the end but thought they played well. Cameron was excellent

Only one game but none of the favourites won.

Bolton lost, Salford-Exeter 2-2, Mansfield-Tranny 0-0 and Bradford was also 0-0.

A really good start to the season could be huge as teams are inevitably going to take 4-5 more games than normal to get up to speed so we’ll soon see which teams have properly prepared during pre season.

I agree with the rather sobering lot on WM, we’ll soon see within first few weeks that anything less than a play off spot will be a massive disappointment this year.

I forecast a close game and it was but if we had taken our chances it would have been a clearer victory. Lets hope we can get a mobile striker on loan from somewhere to boost the attack.

With the chances created it could easily have been 4/5, address that and we could really mount a challenge.

Oh and Osadebe looks the mutts nuts.
