It will just be the same again on Thursday with likely Matt starting and Albert on the bench. If none of the January signings are at least tried now, particularly Asimwe and Chang, then they never will be.
All on Sadler … tactically inept, hell bent on sticking with favourites who are bang out of form… off the top by 5’oclock and out the playoffs by end of March … Top of the league and Sadler completely f****d it up. If they miss out on promotion he MUST be sacked for this debacle… embarrassing
Summarise that rubbish…
Not fudging good enough.
We’re in real trouble now.
Gonna blow it.
End of.
I think Sadler has got to change things for Bromley. They are a big, bustling side so we need to match them. I would go:
Simkin - Asiimwe- Okagbue, Williams, Allen - Gordon - McEntee, Comley, Jellis - Matt, Harrison
Subs: Hornby, Adomah, Weir, Stirk, DJ, Amantchi, Chang
Adomah, DJ and Stirk to come on after 65 minutes or so to attack a tiring defence. Things need to change.
An absolute disgrace from all involved. Total embarssment. No quality no effort. No one really looked bothered.
Can’t wait for the club to release a tunnel video of them all smiling.
That’s before we even mention the ref. Football is finished if we have to put up with that rubbish, might aswell have had a black and white shirt on.
Trouble is Bromley away isn’t really a fixture you want to be putting in untested kids. This is where he’s messed up not giving them significant minutes in last six weeks.
In the top 7 with this win.
I can’t believe we just stood and watched with the first goal.He had time to let it come across his body then pick his spot! Sadler said one thing you can see is the effort they put in.Not on that occasion nor for the second goal either.
I think Saddler actually needs to come out and acknowledge it’s not good enough.
If he comes out with his usual crap, then he will lose the fans.
Three strikers on the bench today - a fella who wasn’t fit enough for 90 minutes, a bloke who the manager only usually plays when all other options have been exhausted and an unproven ‘prospect’.
Combine that with a wafer-thin midfield and you have recipe for today’s non - performance.
As atrocious as the gullible and seemingly visually - impaired referee was we could not compete with their dynamic shithousery.
We miss Earing, admittedly, but I find it hard to believe that young Championship players couldn’t have got stuck-in to them today, yet they weren’t worthy of a place on the bench.
Chang is 22, as has been mentioned Asiimwe has played plenty of games for Charlton.
By not utilising his squad properly earlier Sadler has completely red-zoned Barrett, Matt, and I would now say Jellis and Gordon. There are perfectly good rotation options for all those positions that likely would have yielded more points from the 5 games in which we’ve taken the lead and gone on to take 3 points from, and we could have had players better integrated into what was a confident, winning set-up, and those knackered key players all better equipped for the run-in. Terrible management to fail on all those fronts.
That said, all is not yet lost.
Heard a player of ours who’s not in squad say something similar. As I was making my way out, he said something along the lines of “it was easy to pick the same team over and over when we were winning but it’s biting him in arse now”, paraphrasing but maybe easy in hindsight.
After Harrison’s goal, shamefully we offered nothing.
All credit to the visitors who took their chances well, in general terms we were outplayed by the better side.
We haven’t played well since the window, I seriously doubt the players we brought in will ever play for the club. Just goes to show you these were panic buys after failing to secure Draper.
Things have got to change NOW if we’re to stop the rot. The lads have had the stuffing knocked out if them in the last few games, Sadler and his staff have find something to reinvigorate the team, other wise we’re lost.
Dross.
Barrat and Gordon not offering much in defence or attack. Passengers. Knackered.
Back 3 ok but all caught napping for third and simkin.
Stirk very poor. Only good thing was tackle and ball through to adomah for goal.
Lakin gets into good positions nothing quite comes off though. Surprised he took him off.
Jellis not at the races but again surprised he was taken off.
Adomah and harrison worked for first 20 mjns then too far from action all the time. Adomah chnace to score towards end of first half was critical.
Thoight weir looked good when he came on. Matt got fouled all the time but never wins a free kick needs to take some lessons from rose.
Mcentee lots of effort not much quality particularly when we need to score.
Johnson anonymous.
We are reverting to hoof ball. Long throw ins and hoping we score corners. We look desperate.
Ref was truly awful. Worst since crewe at home. He was giving them everything. Gifted them the first with a very very soft free kick.
Adamant i saw allen touch the ball and shouldnt have been a pen.
But it was the constant one way decisions. Harrison and matt fouled continously never got anything rose fell over and gave him a fre kick everytime.
Clear push on matt in the box. Not even looking.
Cant defend the performance as were well out of sorts. Tired. Devoid of composure.
Ref still won it for them imo. Momentum shifted on his decisions. We lost whatever confidence we had left and were victims rest of game distracted by the decisions and the grimsby acting.
Feel like I’m in a state of mourning after that. League two next season and trips to Barnet Bromley and Salford for us I fear. Even if we do go up we will come straight back down playing like that.
This reminds of the Flynn decline. That started with a series of hand decent performances but we didn’t get what we deserved followed up by some utter rubbish that got him the sack.
Well played Grimsby and I thought Ellis took his goal well. Can’t really think of any other positives.
Had a pleasant chat to my chums this afternoon, but the less said about the “football” the better. At best after the first 15 minutes we were a disorganised rabble, a shambles of a ‘team’. I still believe we will sneak up, but we simply can’t ‘play’ like that again. Players’ self confidence is ebbing away in front of us - see the bookings for dissent. Clearly now we needed an experienced ball playing midfielder, but we didn’t get one…the result is in front of our eyes.
This maybe a blessing in disguise as we certainly arent equipped for the rigours of a higher division. We did very well to a point, and as many have stated January was a huge failure in recruitment quality. If we actually stay in the playoff spots, i cant see us progressing. Its been a very sad watch for the last few weeks, what a shame
Christ.
Chang is coming back from a serious injury, played one game for Birmingham since August 2023. However should not be signing him if it’s quickly been seen his fitness is not what is needed for league two.
Wheatley did play straight away but not been seen since early Feb so attitude?
The young Stoke player was a poor trade from Lowe being recalled. Should’ve insisted on someone like Tezgel even if he wouldn’t have been a direct replacement for Lowe.
Nathan Asiimwe is the strange one. Guy who’s figured 20 times for Charlton who are a low top half league one team shouldn’t really be struggling to even make the bench here. That’s someone the press need to bring up with Sadler every game he dosen’t figure as his omission is a legitimate question given Barrett declining form.
Doncaster Rovers scored after 14 seconds so this is shaping up to be a very bad weekend to lose.
Big assumption. Seem to hear this whenever Sadler exiles anyone, including DJ.
