I can’t even watch Sadlers interview, I just want to slap his face with a wet mackrell.
Joke today joke!
Don’t lump on.

Yeah but Mat said ‘we were brilliant’ in those games
I don’t know why you’re dissecting so much of what was said or not said. It’s a smokescreen. Another defeat, another sometimes puzzling tactical decision. If it hadn’t been for the points advantage when Lowe was in the team, we’d be fighting for the play-offs right now. Now, 3-4 wins should be enough to finish in the top 3.
Mid table at best.
Nah, it wouldn’t be that bad. But 10-12 points less, quite possible.
I know mate. The best part of today was sitting in the sun for a couple of hours.
No chance. Have you seen how many points we have taken since he left? Relegation form pretty much. A lot of those wins were got from sheer momentum. I guess it depends who we had instead of Lowe, but I have a feeling it would have been Gordon and Matt for the most part. Could have been very different indeed.
Sorry i should have said I meant most of THIS season.
Were the fans really chanting that in response to Grimsby chants?!
Of course the last six weeks have been generally poor but ultimately the team is still top with the Bradford result so a bit poor if fans in the Poundland are already giving up.
Yes you can have those thoughts in your head as the game goes on but don’t chant it audibly so the players can hear it ffs.
Maybe Sadler alluded to it because players were coming into the dressing room afterwards and mentioning chants and general comments.
Can kind of see both sides. After Alfreton (?) Sadler made some flippant remark something along the lines of fans should never criticise and just be positive, I believe he said that’s just me which was naive at best. We then went on a winning run so he kinda got away with it. I remember Hutchinson having some rant about the fans after a game last season and I think I commented on Sadler creating an us v them attitude similar to Whitney.
I just don’t feel that this season and don’t feel that those comments today were similar to the above. Was probably just a clumsy attempt at saying one last big push together. I didn’t take it as a swipe at the fans but he has done so in past.
Yes. I thought it added a little terrace humour at the time.
I sit behind the dugout and you could hear it clear as day. Boos at half time, getting abuse from fans behind the dugout who only make some noise when there is something negative to shout about, wasn’t a nice day all round. onto the next one.
I can understand players probably don’t get it, I think a lot of younger fans don’t get it, but Walsall gallows humour has been a thing since I started going to Fellows Park in the early to mid 80s.
When we got on the train back to Cannock after the Swindon game, the chant was “We’re effin shit” and it wasn’t just a few people singing it either. I saw a few funny looks, but it is nothing unusual to me, it’s just the way we are. (I wasn’t joining in!)
I think when you follow a Club that has had so many grim times, it is just a way of dealing with it. It’s probably not right at this moment in time given where we are in the league but it is what it is.
I thought a lot of the booing was aimed at the ref (rightly or wrongly) I don’t blame the ref for the result but I thought that is where a lot of the fans anger was aimed. Maybe that is just a cop out. I don’t agree with booing in general, it is rarely helpful.
Gallows humour is something completely different, in my opinion.
There are some fans that do seem to thrive when there is something negative to shout at.
And why wouldn’t people verbalise their opinions after that complete shit show ?
Today’s performance ( or non performance) was as bad as anything I’ve seen in supporting this club for 50 years…
Or maybe they aren’t happy with just rocking up
for a day out and a few beers regardless of division, opposition or result.
Maybe winning and progress and a bit more than incremental improvement is what floats our boats ? But this is perceived as something negative to shout about.
You may be right about the ref tbf, just trying to think from the perception of the players and manager. I’m generally of the view if you can be bothered to drag yourself out the home to come watch Walsall of all other things to do on a Saturday than you can do what you wish at a game. I blame the 12.30 kick off for a flat atmosphere, can’t be doing with them.
With Nathan Lowe in the side: P22 W15 D4 L3 win percentage of 68.18%
Without Nathan Lowe in the side this season: P14 W5 D4 L5 win percentage of 35.7%, which is 58 points over a season .
In all the league matches Sadler has been in charge when we did not have Nathan Lowe the figures are P64 W24 D17 L23, a win percentage of 37.5%, about 64 points a season.
Mat Sadler was clearly a great manager when he had Nathan Lowe available, but it is not clear that he is particularly good without him.
If the results go the wrong way we could be out of the automatic promotion places at the end of our match with Wimbledon in three week’s time.
I think you’ll find that the boos at HT were very much directed at the officials not the players
Disappointing then. I can actually understand Sadler’s frustration then if fans were just piling on abuse at him and the coaching staff as they’ll be thinking we’re still actually top and all you guys were predicting bottom half or barely above in August so we’re massively overachieving for what was expected.
