Homophobic Comment Against Jamma

Horrible. Fully deserved ban

@Saddler1977 check out the report the Semaj posted on the other thread mate. The bloke’s got previous :person_shrugging:

Sam Finley: Tranmere Rovers player gets 13-game ban for homophobic slur - BBC Sport

I’d forgotten about that, at the time there was speculation it was a racist remark but clearly not and it was homophobic, the game was held up for a few mins wasn’t it?

In any other industry/organisation - he’d be dismissed… why is football so backwards in coming forwards?

No place for this in football, especially considering how some players struggle to ‘come out’. The players and Jamma looked incredibly shocked and I have to admit I thought it most likely to be a threat of violence rather than homophobia.

I find the punishment odd though…

has been ordered to attend a mandatory face-to-face education programme within four months.

Should he fail to complete the programme to the FA’s satisfaction within that period, he will be “immediately and indefinitely suspended from all football and football-related activity until it is completed”

How can the FA make a judgment on the satisfaction of the completion of a face to face education programme.. Would be really interested to know what that programme involves considering most of us just rely on common decency..

‘Don’t be a knob, homophobic or racist got it?’

‘No not sure, go over that again’

‘Well now your suspended’

It’s a tick box exercise same as courses for speeding

Read the comments on the X post from the official Tranmere account. There are some really thick people who can’t seem to understand this isn’t the blokes first offence it is his third hence why the ban is lengthy :see_no_evil_monkey:

Horrible little rat.

Joey Barton’s little bitch apparently.

He was always going to get send off in that game. It was obvious.

Just so happens, Joey Barton is one of the biggest champions against homophobia in football. His uncle happens to be gay.

Wouldn’t fancy his chances saying it to Matt outside of the pitch.

We all remember Manny Monthe getting a ban, which Walsall suffered from, but wasn’t the offence also while playing for Tranmere?
