I think an offer at £15 a game for the 5 tickets they would sell even more. £20 isn’t that bad…they just need to speculate to accumulate more. Would be great to have 8k regular for the rest of the season. The team deserves it
That’s what I was thinking, more like £15 a game.
However, I think that they know that the people who buy these will mostly be people who would probably have gone to 5 or more games anyway, it just gives them the money guaranteed, upfront.
I’m not knocking them, they could have done nothing at all. Football is very expensive and you can’t go down too much without being well below the going rate. People having the money to pay out in one go is also another problem.
Some people want the moon on a stick, seriously this is potentially in raw numbers going to be the most successful single season in our history. this team is a joy to watch. I honestly can’t believe that taking another fiver off or £25 over the offer is going to swing a significant number of people round. The club is not a charity, the offer considering the quality and success we are enjoying is a fabulous one as it is.
And yet you thought taking £2 off would make them sell like hotcakes.
You completely missed the point.
Everyone’s entitled to their opinion fella. This is just mine. A lot of people, not just myself have to watch every single penny. Life isn’t that easy atm. Just saying !!
Exactly the point I was getting at. Not trying to be negative or knock the club at all.
Same happened the week before too, it was on the sign at Bloxwich, then when on the train it wasn’t, but it did stop there.
Absolutely mate
maybe instead of a shirt, we can give them each a high viz drawstring bag - we still must have 1000s of those.
If the wavering fans go to Istanbul for a few days is that OK?
Yes, and I had a rollicking good time thank you for asking.
I have walked to / from Tame Bridge when travelling from Wolves, rather then going via New Street
Careful or you’ll be labbled a troll and muted by @SidSwifty
I think it’s a good initiative. They don’t have to do anything and could bring in the cash just as well. It might entice the more casual fan. And a boost for those who’d pay as they go normally.
A question, if Coventry can add over 50% to there attendance and be in touching distance of 28,000 why can’t we get to7,500
Because they are a significantly sized City with one football team.
Their closest rivals are Leicester and Villa
Like all teams when they’re not doing great, they have a very large floating fan base which picks and chooses - it’s this that makes their averages so different these days to the past - bear-in mind they’ve had a couple of very good seasons and almost (arguably, should have bar a dodgy VAR decision) got to last seasons FA cup final…
Nothing really strange about their attendances I don’t think…
One thing mentioned when Trivela bought in was building connections between club and town. From my perspective a club to be proud of is a big boost. It’ll take time, but I do don’t see why we can’t push up past this imaginary 5,000 barrier and establish a larger base.
If this success continues it will happen. In particular the outreach to the Asian Community seems to be yielding some success. I have seen more Asians at matches this year than before. That is great but as my Asian friends tell me they , perhaps even more than us, love to be associated with success! There also seem to me to be more folk in the family stand.I sit opposite to it and the numbers seem to be growing slowly. If I am right on that then that is good for our future if it can be sustained.
Not sure that flexi ticket promotion is attractive enough to drag fans in.
The initial outlay to save a couple of quid won’t sell.
If you know your going to six games at least before the end of the season then it’s ideal, especially if you can’t afford a half season ticket.
To attract people in who wouldn’t come, and keep them here for 6 games I’d say it needs to be £18 a game and the option of an additional under 18 / over 65 for £10 each game. £28 for two people a weekend is a bargain… and very attractive to sporadic fans.
And perhaps if the initial outlay of £108 is too much maybe a deposit system where you can top up an account each week and it builds up to a ticket. A bit like save the change some banks have, or a credit style system.
- Deposit of £50 initially and the ability to secure a discount on tickets for 6 games at a price of £18 for the upper or middle tiers and the option to sit in the less desirable parts of the ground for £15.
