So were you implying that 6 games takes it out of a player physically or mentally?
I’m coming at it from the perspective of it’s where he is mentally and emotionally rather than physically…

Suddenly everyone is a psychiatrist.
Hasn’t been too bad in the last few weeks, was during pre season where he looked really down.
You said 6 games takes it out of you - I only asked what you meant (mentally or physically…)
Whether it’s physical or mental, if he’s not fit to play he’ll get treatment, not sent to a hot sandy beach somewhere.
I don’t think you need to be a psychiatrist to know that what he’s gone through would have an impact on you mentally.
You don’t even know the bloke, apart from watching him run around on the pitch ( not very effectively lately) no matter what the problem is whether it’s physical or mental health he shouldn’t be playing if he’s not up to it.
So is your point he shouldn’t be playing or is your point that you’re sceptical that a player might need a rest after 6 games?
Respect your opinion but generally speaking, I reckon most of us are commenting that given what he’s been through, he may not be where he needs to be (mentally speaking) to be performing at his best..
BOTH!
So what is he doing playing then, it’s not as though we haven’t got any midfielders in the squad who would love to play and are not suffering mentally, physically or just worn out after 6 games.
Maybe MS feels it’s the best way to handle his situation..
Keep him involved, let him know he’s a valuable member of the squad and he’s supported but limit his exposure given his potentially reduced quality/output whilst the investigation is ongoing etc…
Basically, I don’t know but I reckon MS knows more than you and me about him and how to handle him..
He’s not worn out, he’s played alright this season, he has a niggly groin/pelvis issue takes him a couple of days to recover after each game been going on for a few weeks.
I dont trust his judgement after the fiasco last season…![]()
You’re making excuses for him, if he’s not 100% fit we’ve got loads ( too many in my opinion) of midfielders in the squad who are probably 100% fit and raring to go.
What excuses am I making? He’s got a niggly injury, yeah he probably should have a week or two on the bench but he’s not worn out and hasn’t been playing poorly this season.
He will do this weekend i reckon now Finnigan has had more minutes.
Well, not everyone ![]()
Yes we are all psychiatrists.
I agree with Sid. All this namby pamby empathy nonsense.
Good kick up the arse every morning before an hour in the stocks by the Sister Dora statue. That’ll learn him
I’m not a full time psychiatrist btw
I believe you might be a
Tegulator Pavimentorum.
If my bad attempt at Latin’s holding up.
Edit: no idea why this post has suddenly developed double line spacing. Oh look it’s corrected itself. ![]()
