We could do with looking at a few Tamworth players reading that
The keeper is good.
2 leagues below
Signed a new contract
I was speaking to an older gentleman at the Tamworth game yesterday who stated that he was at the shareholderās meeting when their accounts were discussed.
He confirmed the fee for Jellis was £20,000 plus a pre season friendly.
Jellis was given the captainās armband for Walsall against Tamworth, scored a cracking goal and was then quickly subbed after a rather petulant goal celebration.
A rough diamond, perhaps, but exactly the sort of calculated risk that strikes me as very good business.
I was speaking to a Tamworth fan too, who said the fee was £20k.
He also seemed to think their centre half no 17, Jamie Willets was ex-Walsall.
I donāt recall him at all, does anyone else?
We did have Ryan Willetts for a while.
An aside on Jamie, he was the best man at my nieces wedding two years ago.
As he stood up, he announced his nerves at speaking and as a coping strategy, he had read that imagining all the guest being naked would help.
As he looked around the room smiling to himself, my 82 year old mother said āYou dare!!ā
He lost it for a few moments, before recovering and delivering the rest of his speech.
I use that for work talks.
āIām told to imagine all of you nakedā
Pause
āIt doesnāt helpā
Can he play upfront? 3 goals so far in pre-season. Making a case to start against Morecambe.
Thereās going to be big clubs looking at JJ.
Adding goals and not just any goals, very good goals, to his game.
What an unbelievable find heās turning out to be.
Yeah just gets better game after game. Looks like heās played in the league for years which is no mean feat considering he was National league North 12 months back.
Will be playing in league 1 next season, hopefully with the Saddlers!
Jellis and Barrett are starting to look a decent pairing down the right hand side now and seem to be forming an understanding of each others game and are covering well for each other, Barrett lost the ball first half and Jellis covered back for him and made a brilliant tackle.
These pair are beginning to show some real class, and as for Lowe, heās becoming unplayable.
If we are going to get out of this horrible league , we need to hold on to our assets not sell them soon as someone come sniffing , how often has selling our players been our down fall, we will see the owners true colours maybe if this carries on.unless itās silly money offered
The added sweetness of 2 of the current stars coming from local non league sides. Players that we evidently scouted well and then plucked from their teams.
Its sustainable, itās what many have been saying for years. So much to be positive about right now
Four.
Taylor Allen from Romulus.
Harry Williams from Alvechurch.
Jamie Jellis from Tamworth.
Connor Barrett from Fylde.
Just think if the owners continue this sort of system where they invest more into these type of players, weāre going to see some exceptional talent over the next few years.
I donāt see anyone being sold in Jan. Great the likes of Jellis and Barrett are on long term deals, infact Iād be quickly giving Jellis an extension.
The concern has to be Lowe with Stoke not far off the relegation places. Change of manager aswell since he came here so that feels inevitable to me.
Weāve been here before last two seasons so hopefully another loanee has already been identified.
Donāt forget Earing from Halifax.
Ironically of course one of the very players you are referring to of course is now already our player
Done!
