I hate the argument “x player took some stick” with zero context added to it (like the Adebayo point above). Yes Holden did take stick … IN HIS WEAKER POSITION AND STILL PRODUCED BETTER OUTPUT THAN EMMANUEL OSEDEBE. Holden’s performances were poor, he acknowledged them, he was finally played on his correct position and he flourished. Osedebe hasn’t improved, he’s the same bang average player that joined. Carrying the ball forward to then boot it out of play because you can’t play a simple pass or hit a decent shot makes no difference.

That is a long journey in what was let’s face it, terrible conditions, Carlisle was gut wrenchingly cold, (their pIayers are used to it of course) but I believe this affected our performance more than most would have believed. I’d take a punt in January and chance my arm with him as regards making him a Walsall player he can clearly finish given the chance and the more we get use to this formation as regards getting a couple of players in and around him the better he will get.The fact he’s had a dry spell may well work in our favour with the price tag so personally I don’t want this formation to be fluid until Millers a Walsall player.
