As said above I am struggling to think of a more wasteful side and I watch a heck of a lot of football the players have to take responsibility especially of a penalty situation.
Yet the defence gets pilloried for the odd mistake. I have said it before it us upfront where the biggest problems lie.
The best attacking football I’ve seen us play, should be out of sight but due to a combination of not finishing ans a silly mistake of our own making we find ourselves behind.
Why is it? It isn’t even halftime yet, plenty of time to get back in it.
It’s the same with penalties every year with every Walsall team. I am sure someone has put a curse on Walsall team.
3 shots on target 6 off target it’s a brilliant 1st half effort apart from the onion bag bulging
Half time team talk “same again lads but you’ve got to take your chances”
Yep that’s pretty much it Scoob!
I don’t know. It started so brightly, but ended as usual can be said. It’s more lack of skill, or bad day? Hard to tell.
If you can’t score you don’t win football games.
Blindingly obvious I know but a fact.
We expected Philips to miss the pen and he obliged with a shocker.
On the plus side we are playing some decent stuff.
Still hate the passing around at the back though. It’s a disaster waiting to happen.
Lots of positives in the way we played that half with plenty of hood performances.
Cant score to save our lives though. 5 or 6 excellent chances squandered. No exaggeration to say we should have scored four goals from those opportunities.
Khan ay a full back
These are Robin us to be fair.
Shocking effort
If we can’t beat Cambridge reserve’s we are in shit
The first half is really the story of our season. Dangerous going forward, great movement off the ball, create a lot of chances but can’t convert them into goals. Wilkinson should have scored a hat-trick in the first ten minutes.
A very poor back pass from Khan left Monthe in a bad spot to concede the penalty, they calmly tucked it away. We were given a chance of redemption but Phillips placed it poorly and was easily saved by their keeper.
Have we used up all of our chances? One only get so many per game. If we have any left can we find the back of the net!
I think we’ve used our bucket & a half…
Maybe we should try this approach when our main striker is playing rather than hoofing balls up to him with no one in support?
Attendance 718 including 104 saddlers
Daft idea
Getting tired of seeing centre backs sitting deep and then hoofing the ball down the channels or across the pitch - why isn’t one of the 3 ahead of them (Kins, Earing and Oss) trying to find space to receive the ball off them, then they can try and spread it wide. We don’t seem to have anyone who plays as a pivot to help maintain the ball.
