L 2-0 vs Crewe Alexandra (A) - League Two - Sat 15th April, 3pm

What’s he done to deserve his first job being at this poisoned chalice, destined to fail then struggle to get another managerial job again?

Well that’s the thing about a meaningless cliche like ‘lost the dressing room’ - it’s nearly unprovable and even then it means different things to different people.

So unless there’s a recording of a dressing room meeting saying ‘lads, let’s endanger the future value of our short careers, even though most of us are moving on in a month, by playing poor to make this manager look bad’ then I don’t see any point in such nebulous claims.

Even if someone thinks they’re telling the truth about such a subjective claim, it doesn’t mean it’s true.

If you take into account our season since new years day/cup run, etc, and consider things like i) points gained ii) number of wins iii) average possession per game iv) shots on target v) number of games we’ve bossed the opposition vi) conceding the most goals against the rock bottom team, vii) general quality, etc etc … its not even relegation form. It’s worthy of a team one or even two leagues lower than L2.

We’ve even started leaking more goals now, having at least had one of the best defences in the league up until a few games ago (Stevenage, Hartlepool, W’don, Rochdale seriously dented the GA/GD columns)

We need a major clearout in the summer - but then again WFC is famous for always having around the highest rate of changes very year

We have launched a new podcast called ‘The Yellow Ribbon Podcast’. It can be found on Spotify at ‘The Yellow Ribbon Podcast’ or find us on Twitter @ribbonpodcast

We talk about a lot of what has been said in this thread and have found the stats behind Flynn’s reign. Would really appreciate the support as we do more, and try to get guests on too!

Knowles starts his interview with an apology.

The interviewer pushes the players for answers far more then he pushes Flynn… should be the other way around

Flynn would frighten him more than Knowles. For someone who looks half dragged up Knowles is very eloquent

I don’t defend players and managers very often as they are in a very privileged industry, but I thought that interview was sincere and very apologetic for the shambolic performance witnessed by the fans on Saturday but we want more than words.

As an aside, seeming to confirm what was posted here yesterday, Vale’s Flitcroft was said to have been there on Saturday, scouting. Buried deep in the Vale board was the suggestion that he was looking for a 'keeper.
True or not, I don’t doubt that Evans will be attracting attention.

Knowles should be the last person apologising, just another employee thrown under the bus!

Was it a long throw?

One of the few people at our club who shouldn’t have to front and apologise.

Knowles comes across very well. Fair play to him for coming out to be interviewed.
