L 2-0 vs Mansfield Town (A) - League Two - Sat 15th Jan, 3pm

To be honest, if the situation is that we’re trying to get Khan to sign, but the player is touting around for other offers, I’ve got no problem with MT saying it’s “illness”. No good can come of saying “he’s looking at other clubs”. In the end, he’ll either sign for us and it wouldn’t be helpful to know he was looking to see where else he could go, or he’ll sign for someone else, because they’re higher in the leagues or offering better money.

So you’re now openly in favour of the Club lying to supporters?

I’m in favour of the club doing what needs to be done to improve our squad and position in the league. You know as well as I do that, if the club were to announce that Khan didn’t play on Saturday because he’s looking around at offers that would a) cause immediate unrest amongst the fans towards the club and b) you’d find a number of fans saying “f&ck him off if he doesn’t want to be here” and then, if he does sign, there’s negativity in the air for no reason. Neither of those situations improves our squad, improves our league position or improves the relationship between the club and its fans. So, yes, if those were to be the set of circumstances, I’d fully understand the reasoning. As it is, we don’t know anyway. He may well be ill as stated. Let’s wait and see what develops this week. And let’s hope he signs. It’s what we all want.

Monthe’s already had the trial? Oh … wait … you’re talking about waiting and seeing this time. I get you.

You’ve got to be on the wind up :joy:

100% on here to cloud issues mate, absolutely no doubt about it. For what reason, who knows - who cares.

I love how these characters can only keep a lid on it for so long before really taking their chance to shine - but in the process outing themselves as nothing more than irrelevant internet trolls.

I certainly won’t be wasting my time after what I have seen from him in the last few days :joy: why do all trolls always sign off with things like ‘best wishes’, or ‘have a nice evening’ haha

Just what we need when we are at our lowest ebb as a football club

An encouraging performance, need to convert those kinds of performances to results now. The play off push must start imminently if we have any real hope of making it now.

Funny how fans see different things on match days there’s plenty saying we were poor then the odd one or two saying the above always found it fascinating.

I wouldn’t say we were awful Saturday. The game really hinged on Miller missing a good chance and then minutes later us giving a bad goal away. Fine margins but we always seem to come out the wrong side of things. Very predictable in fact.

I never went mate so my comments are more on games I’ve been too and people seeing it completely different it just fascinates me that’s all.As for your point on the wrong side of things I completely agree 50-50 tackles pinball around the box and the events you’ve mentioned always lands for the opposition well mostly anyway it is very frustrating.

Hasn’t that been the case a few times lately, with exactly that combination of events? The problem, as you say, is we keep coming out on the wrong end of it. Fine margins indeed.

Nope, we were shocking against Stevenage.

Talking to some Mansfield fans they said we were ok seen much worse than us but we don’t have enough going forward and don’t look a threat

Saturday was awful, anyone who thinks otherwise seek help immediately.

The game wasn’t a completion, it was one team attacking whilst the other held on for 90 minutes. Yes we had one or two chances but so did Walsall when we played Chelsea.

It was rank!

That is unfair. We weren’t brilliant but we were not holding on for 90 minutes.

The problem was with the centre of the defence - we had just become solid with Monthe and Menayese and the former is banned and the latter starts to play like a novice.

I get what you are saying but what are you classing as holding your own?

As an attacking force we were awful, no link up play , no possession and only one real shot on target.

Spot on - we may have been abject in other games, but on Saturday at least, there wasn’t much between us, and a team who are on fire - top of the form table and who have won 12 of their last 14 matches.

As far as I saw it, the simple difference was their strikers converted their chances, and we weren’t nearly sharp enough or decisive around their box.

If you factor in that we were playing with a hastily reshuffled team, a re-arranged defence, and missing our arguably most on-form player in Otis Khan, then on Saturday’s performance alone, I didn’t think it was too bad.
