Word for the stewarding

Is this outsourced now

Embarrassing that it took a Steward (whose been at the club years) to race on to the pitch solo to remove the bloke who wondered on

Is much of our Stewarding now outsourced ?

Just to re open this old wound

Liam Kinsella…
…

I missed what happened there. In the loo.

Why did he come on the pitch

No idea. He entered the pitch without any clear aim.

Wasn’t after the Ref. Wasn’t after some of their more shithouse characters.Didn’t want to hug his favourite Walsall player. Wasn’t after the ball or after cheers from the crowd.

Even he wondered why he stayed on the pitch so long

On the basis of that, it’ll be Stockport, not us, who are on that run to promotion.

Didn’t help that we kept lumping balls in the air though when they were completely dominating us.

Similar to the first half on Boxing Day, we looked really rusty. Didn’t win a second ball all night and lost the majority of the first ball too. Stockport did a brilliant job at pinning our wing backs back to the point where we were basically playing a back five. I thought we might have gone to a back four in the second half, just to give us a bit of width.

As odd as it might be, I also feel that Comley might have made a difference instead of Earing. We just couldn’t get on the ball in the centre of the park and his general ratting about might have seen us turn play over far more than we did.

Stockport fully deserved their win and I thought Wootton was brilliant for them. I don’t think I’ve seen Monthe and Daniels be beaten in every department so frequently as they were tonight.

It’s important now that we bounce back quickly. A win on New Years Day and it turns into a minor bump in the road, another loss and the pack will pull away again slightly

I was in a queue of traffic waiting to get off the car park and the pitch invader was having some sort of go at Leigh Pomlett by Pomletts car and then he was mouthing off at the police. He seemed a very angry man dont know who he is never seen him before very strange behaviour

Bonser, still wanting his rent?

Wonder if it’s someone who posts on here…

Also this does a disservice to the concept of an invasion. That was a saunter, not an invasion :joy:

Entered the pitch without any clear aim? was it Andy williams?

Think most of our stewards are pathetic and haven’t got a clue tbh from what I’ve witnessed and how they react to situations. Very outdated compared to other clubs

In retrospect, the most Walsallest of Walsall shows. Cracking run of results, home tie against a side of similar form, larger than normal attendance buoyed by the recent off the field news. Should have guessed it would be a disappointing evening.

It all felt flatter than expected from the off. But we were beaten by the better side, who for me should be the benchmark for what we should look to be. Better across the park, particularly in midfield

Let’s hope we do them in the cup. We could really use that 4th round tie.

For context the same time last season we were enjoying Conor Wilkinson smashing in a last minute equaliser against Newport only to go on to lose the next 7. In the overall scheme of things we’re not far off where we need to be, just hope we don’t take today’s result to heart too much and move on. Updated my rough graph of the season so far compared to last.

I always liked the fact - you recognised the stewards and on the most part they had the same gate / role

Things I’ve witnessed this season as well as this include

An exit door shut in the / unmanned at full time in the Carlisle game causing a build up of fans till someone opened the door up

Another steward just walking out at FT of one evening game with this fellow steward shouting ā€œyou have to stop until after the game we have things to doā€

Makes me wonder if these are now just your standard agency Stewards.

They were advertising for stewards a few months ago maybe there were not enough takers and they subbed it out to an agency?

We should ban crowds of over 4.5k. It is the same when it is kids for a quid, we bring in a few more fans and the team churn out a shite performance. Hardly a glowing endorsement to bring them back.

Plus is it just me that may not have noticed this earlier but Hutchinson certainly lacks pace, looked like he was running through treacle at times.
