It was just really weird. I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt, perhaps thought the whistle had gone or summat. But it’s not a good omen
I find it odd that those that lauded Pomlett and his Bonser cronies and told all of us nasty supporters off for calling him out for exactly what he was, now beleive we were in a state?!
Whatever suits at the time, eh?
More to the point, when is Pomlett finally sodding off?
Agreed and whilst I have no doubt his heart is in the right place as regards his love for the club as a fan the investment has now been sorted as he said he would get and surely BB knows enough now to show him the way out of the building.
We now have Matt and Faal who run and run with no end product, Flash, who also runs around a lot with no end product,. What/who have we left to put in the role of ‘striker’? We have one out and out striker/goal poacher, who supposedly has a broken toe, he may as well be on a different planet as far as Sadler is concerned, and Oteh…wow we are in for a difficult few months, thank goodness for a 16 point cushion and two basket case non league teams (one of whom wishes they could play us every week!) heading for non league again.
Yes, I agree, I’m not entirely sure what the thinking is behind signing Faal and Gordon on loan, unless there’s a permanent striker signed in the summer who is worth waiting for.
Pomlett did his best with very limited resources but he will always be held in high regard due to the two deals he concluded which should see us progress as a club. UTS
For me, it was the point in the game when I knew there was no way back. It was a tap-in and he did not even get the shot on target. At 2-1 and with our tails up, we would have had a decent chance.
I think we miss Draper or Matt in defending dead balls. They both attacked the ball but Faal does not seem to do it as well. He needs time but that miss will affect him.
By whom, exactly?
Have you read @P.T’s post, amongst many others? In your very own words, we were in a ‘state’…make your mind up
Talking out your harris mate, as per usual
With displays like yesterday, we can forget any hope of reaching the play offs.
One poster pointed out that we’ve had one good month in the seven months we have played so far - hardly the stuff the play offs are made from.
We’ve shown glimpses of being good, glimpses don’t get one promoted. People talk about our lack of consistency, winning games, we’re very consistent in losing them!
Like you, I’m very frustrated, unless we pull some huge rabbits out of the hat this summer, I just can’t see things changing. Another year in the doldrums of L2 fills me with dread.
I’m sure Mr. Boycott didn’t leave the stadium a happy man, especially with the abuse he got from a few fans. He can clearly see we’re not headed in the right direction, he has the power to make the necessary changes. Does he have the courage to implement those changes? I hope so.
I dunno by those who hated Bonser and refused to attend matches while he was owner.
Totally agree. People harp on about being embarrassed about frozen/waterlogged pitches, burnt sausage roles or crumpled shirts on the shop website. All pales into insignificance after yesterday. For the first time I was genuinely embarrassed at my football club. Newport fans must of wandered what sort of club we are. Joke club with joke fans and they would be half right.
This one sentence perfectly sums the club up since we got relegated.
More than capable of a decent run in isolation and some surprise results, but also capable of capitulations against struggling sides and long winless runs. Consistency is required and this will only happen when the whole club sings from the same hymn sheet in preseason and more permanent quality is brought in, in key positions for the formation the manager wants to play i.e. actually follow the BB statement that was made, which read well but quite simply has not happened.
Why anyone even mentions the play offs is totally beyond my understanding. We are demonstrably miles off for 3/4 of a season
I hate all these hard working striker malarkey
They usually suck and have to compensate for their total lack of talent somewhere
Gordon sucks as a striker, faal obviously also lacking any goal scoring instincts . Strikers are your main goal threat for god sake they don’t need to run around like headless chickens jus thot the dam target
All this ‘ ahh but he works hard ‘ is a cop out
Couldn’t care less if they player can jot the target or actually cross the ball to one of our own players or pass the through ball
Walsall have always appreciated hard work way much
50 quid isn’t peanuts at the moment mate people are still struggling for money it would cost me similar i can afford it but i just can’t be arsed these days I’d rather spend it elsewhere which is hard to say after following them all over for years.
To be fair it is my own fault for not getting a season ticket. I was pissed off with the football, pissed off with the big price increase and thought I’d pick and choose my matches and if it were rubbish I just wouldn’t go. I thought it would save me money.
What I hadn’t banked on was both the kids wanting to go every week. I’d have happily given yesterday a miss. It was me who drummed Walsall FC into the kids, I can’t really turn around and say nah we ain’t going! I’m chuffed they are interested and I will get a season ticket this time.
I can accept that games like yesterday will happen, the same as the opposite like the Wrexham game, the atmosphere was great, we played superbly and it was brilliant seeing the kids dancing by the front wall at the end of the game. There have been far too many drab home games though, and to me we have to do better. Far too much talk about building. We aren’t unhappy we haven’t got in the playoffs, we are pissed off because we aren’t even coming close to competing at that end of the table. It’s division 4, there are some high spenders but overall we should be more than capable of competing without it taking years to build.
It didn’t curse Graydon or Nicholl
I would almost class that as an open goal
Pick a better manager and ‘back’ him!
I think we could back a manager if we could see there was a plan. I can’t imagine anyone wanted Sadler as manager, and so he was doomed from the off.
Yeah I’m sick of hearing the building excuse every year as well mate it’s getting boring now it’s making excuses for shit we should be doing a lot better but we keep making the same mistakes.
