L 3-2 vs Shrewsbury Town (A) - BSM Trophy Group Stage - Tue 14th Nov, 7pm

And yet, by most measurements, Clough is a good manager. He really couldn’t be doing with Johnson, just wanted rid.

I would agree with what you say about working out someone’s weaknesses and strengths, trying to get the person happy and motivated. But also, from my time in management, I can say that, sometimes, you have an employee who just wants something completely different to what you do, based perhaps on different values and ethos. There are occasions on which there is just no reconciliation. Then it’s best for the person to move on to somewhere that more aligns with their wishes - a job in Swindon, for example?

Only how Flynn does it you mean.

I don’t think Flynn and Mat Sadler particularly get on and besides he’s got an assistant

Flynn made similar remarks a few weeks ago and you accused him of throwing players under the bus Mat does same you’ve got “no problem with it” double standards .

This is reaching Gensanx proportions!!

Flynn started his usual “I can’t wait for January and if people don’t wanna do what I want I’ll get them out and get some more in”

That’s nothing like what Sadlers done re DJ. He’s been asked a question and he’s constructively replied with what he’d like to see more of from DJ…he did t even say he doesn’t do it or wouldn’t do it he’s just said he needs him to get to the stage where he can do it for longer or more often.

He really couldn’t have been more constructive with it if he’d tried.

Walsall fans:“Why doesn’t Sadler just come out and say what the problem is? The fans deserve it. Sadler Out”

Sadler: “Here’s the problem. These are the things I need him to do”

Walsall fans: “Disgraceful coming out and saying that. Sadler Out”

There you go again choosing your narrative all to familiar :weary:You’ve stated many times on here you don’t believe managers should criticise or identify players by name in post match interviews you’ve slated Flynn while here and since he’s gone to Swindon for doing it .but it’s fine when Mat Sadler does it .you ain’t got a problem .you open to give you views on everyone else at this club and there deficiencies except one .”Hail mat Sadler

Wow. The most deluded reply to any of my posts ever.

I know you’re desperate to pick a fight with me or my posts but honestly there are so many other more credible points you could make or argue with instead of making up something and pretend that’s what I said just for an argument.

  1. I didn’t say managers shouldn’t identify or criticize players by name.

I said I didn’t like the way Flynn did it and as usual he results go bad he resorts to “I’m not scoured to replace who I’ve got in January if they don’t perform”

Flynn used players as an excuse and hung them out to dry. That’s not even an unpopular opinion! Most fans will agree with that.

  1. That’s not what’s happened here with Sadler. He was asked a specific question about DJ and he gave a very constructive answer WITHOUT having to assassinate his character or ability whilst saying how pleased he was to see him on the scoresheet and constructively saying what he wants to see more if from him going forwards.

I honestly don’t know how this is an argument. There are so many other better opportunities to argue with me than this.:rofl::rofl::rofl:

Ok we’ve got to deluded , you can precede to clown if you like I won’t be offended .as you seem to be because I questioned in my opinion your double standards regard one manger and another .calm yourself don’t want you or your keyboard exploding again :joy: didn’t realise we were having an argument don’t want that just an exchange of opinions is fine .

Keep it civil, please. If you can’t make a point without adding a put-down the point you’re making probably isn’t strong enough.

Lots of talk at the moment about the hostility and division on UTS and in the wider fan base, engaging with respect would definitely help to ease that.

Whole heartedly agree

It wasn’t a difference of opinions. You are attempting to say I said something I didn’t. To what end I have no idea.

More than happy to have a discussion on football opinions. I welcome it. It’s why I’m here.

Where is that coming from Simon, social media? (I try to avoid it and stick to here for talking Walsall F.C)

UTS is a unique place. I reckon the day things stop getting heated on here is the day no one cares anymore and they are closing the doors.

(Please don’t take that as me telling anyone to ignore what you said, being respectful is always a good thing)

I’ve no issue with heated discussions, Mark, I’ve had many myself on here.

I do however think that throwing insults cheapens the point a user makes and needlessly veers a forthright exchange about football in what is a largely anonymous environment, toward something unnecessarily personal. It also nurtures grudges, which tend to negatively effect how users post thereafter, and that has a knock-on effect on threads.

Mainly by DM

You are know saying the above which is (untrue) which is exactly what you said said to me in a previous post below as I said before you say things to address your own narrative and don’t think I’m the first person on here to tell you that .you can’t have a proper exchange of views when you resort to such tactics to back up what you say it’s impossible

Hear, hear (or is it here, here?)

It is the season of goodwill to all men (and women and non-binary) after all.

Some of the posts are extremely aggressive (towards each other and some staff) and the same people bickering makes it a real chore navigating through threads where there are good or even excellent contributions from other posters, we can all agree to disagree without it descending into petty squabbles, we all ultimately share rather a lot in common in supporting this fine institution. We can do better.

Blimey you’ve lost it pal

I’m bowing out before people think we’re both senile. I’m not taking a ban for you.

Whatever it is you’re trying to say, you’re right. How’s that :+1:

I could never be angry at you KC, largely because I read your posts in the voice of Bob Warman.
