The referee for this one is Alan Dale from Suffolk. He is another newbie on trial for possible promotion from National League level to EFL level for next season, this will be only his 7th EFL league game. He has issued 19 yellow cards, no red cards and just one penalty in the 6 games prior to today`s fixture so will be interesting to see how he manages this one.
He has not officiated either us or Cheltenham before, lets see how this one goes.

Cheltenham to win 1-0 and Hutchinson to score is my prediction.

Speaking to a dingle mate yday and he was surprised that we’d given up playoffs as a fan base….seeing only 6 points in it with 12 to play for.
But my response was you gave up in November so you cant say owt.
I fully expect another twist…. win 3 on the bounce - take it to the last game of the season, drab draw at Bromley to seal out 26/27 L2 fate.
Ive given up - currently hiking in Brecon rather than enjoying my ST.

You could well be close with that prediction. I think it might be worse - 0-2 to the robins.
They have been a thorn in our side lately. Throwing away the 2-0 lead last year and us gifting them a win with that weird own goal earlier this season.
They have a very experienced manager and fear he may do a number on Byfield.

Note that Byfield has certainly not given up and is very positive, what a difference from Sadler’s ‘we go again’ rubbish.

I’m struggling to think of a time I have fewer focks about the outcome of a Walsall game.
For me, today is primarily about joining in the absolute chaos in and around Grand National weekend.

Now you’re clutching at straws.
Playoffs are gone as far as I’m concerned so today is just about meeting up with old friends and having a drink. This game like the remaining ones are simply about getting it over and done with until August. Obviously I want us to win but if we don’t there’s no harm done as that has already happened.
