It is my opinion we should have started with our strongest 11 and give ourselves the best chance of winning the game.
In a season that is destined for mid table at best, these cups offer a little something. If Blackburn want to ‘rest’ their players let them get on with it.
I know you won’t agree, I think I am probably older than you. Some of my best nights following Walsall have been in this competition.

No I do agree. I’d have forecast Blackburn making changes so I’d have gone full bore and played the same side as Saturday and gone for the win….and fancied my chances….
But that leaves half a squad not playing until PJ Trophy V BHA….that’s not good for morale…

There’s a real chance to progress in this competition tonight given the changes by Blackburn - we could get a very rewarding premier league team away in the next round.

I disagree, Bernie. I think it’s the right thing to do. I presume we are going to see what McEntee is like as the right-sided centre back and whether Foulkes and Tierney are ready to start. It will also be interesting to see how Stirkley (or Comirk?) play together. I think we might learn a few things tonight.
