Every competitive game is important, some more than others though.

A positive is to use your full squad early in the season so that you know who’s ready to step in and do the job effectively if someone else is injured. Sadler is potentially mindful of last season’s injury issues and wants more of the squad up to speed for matches.

This cup is not really taken that seriously by many clubs in the early stages anymore unfortunately, but that’s the reality.
