Cause I work 7am till 7pm Monday to Thursdays so it’s a stupid rush for a poxy cup at £20 a pop. No thanks
4 day week no weekend work? The life
Fair play mate. Personally, I think the League Cup is a cracking competition that provided us with one of our greatest ever moments that I wish I’d been around for.
If we can sustain decent form over the next couple of weeks, there will be a more than decent crowd in. Can’t wait.
Each to their own but I think £20 is fair enough to see us play premier league opposition.
Hope others feel the same and it’s a good turnout.
£20 at home to a Premiership team (and recent title winners) - the majority of it going into our coffers.
£24 to go to MK - and we don’t get a penny of it.
It’s actually more expensive for me to take my two kids.
Still, at least it is a team worth paying to watch at the moment.
Yep love the league cup - beating Arsenal and drawing with Liverpool in the 80s was amazing - and then beating Forest and Sheffield United at Bescot in the 90s was pretty special!
and to sit in a soul less half empty ground with a sprinkling of plastic home fans
Fair enough but the likelihood of us ever repeating what we done in the 80s are slim. I’ve seen us play Leicester many a times including in league 1 so forgive me if I ain’t excited by this fixture.or see this fixture a massive premier league team
Ah guess nobody should bother going to an away game ever then
I can’t believe reducing ticket prices to £15 for adults would have a significant difference. This is an EPL side at home, we are absolutely flying and a place in the Round of 16 is up for grabs. I’d be really disappointed if we weren’t very close to filling the place. I expected and sure the club were tempted to charge normal matchday prices.
You shouldn’t feed trolls, but if you were a real profile, you’d be very dissapointed. They haven’t even opened all the ground this season for league cup games.
It will all be open for this one. Leicester have been given a full allocation of 2,538.
I’m not saying it won’t be, but it’s not going to sell out.
These are the games when we should be giving away 500 tickets to schools etc. normally we give away tickets when we are playing rubbish football and need to boost the attendance. How about giving some away in our first 10 games where we are playing well and kids/parents may well want to come back and pay to watch future games if they have a good time.
You are entitled to that point of view but no one else seems to be thinking or saying that, certainly not me.
Context: The discussion was around choosing between 2 specific games - but feel free to jump in and conflate that into a totally specious argument of your own imagination (if that’s what floats your own particular, and very weird, boat).

Here we go again. Another thread heading for a scrap. Go and find where Gensex posts and and have your argument there.
45% of it goes to us doesn’t it?
Regardless, I’ve been to the first two rounds which were actually great nights, so I will be going. I think if I had to make a choice though, I’d prefer the MK Dons game, more important in the grand scheme of things. Not everything about being a fan is topping up the club’s bank balance, we pay them enough over a season anyway and as a supporter, it is alright to choose which you think you will enjoy the most.
It’s more expensive than a normal matchday for the Leicester game if you are taking kids, that doesn’t sit that well with me, something the club has been very good at is the pricing for kids.
Great idea.
I have a vague idea that we are only allowed to do this (free tickets for schools) a handful of times a season though.
Something to do with reciprocal arrangements for away fans.
Could be wrong!

So was my response, and it didn’t “conflate that into a totally specious argument of my own imagination”. If it was just down to price, and who got the money, you’d never do an away game ever again if the choice was between cup and league. That’s, quite literally, choosing between two specific games. Don’t get upset that I pointed out the problem in your logic.
The problem is there are a multitude of factors.
You’re quite right about MK Dons by the way. £24 quid is insane for a soulless hell hole in the middle of nowhere. Just got my £17 quid tickets for Salford though. Should be a great day regardless of result, away days always are.
