League Cup Rd 3 Draw - Leicester City (H) again!

So it wasn’t even factually correct :joy:

That’s a very fair point and with no kids to take I was purely looking at the pricing through the prism of adult prices which I do believe are reasonable given the progression we’ve already made, the good form we are showing and the level of opposition. Granted its slightly more for a season ticket holder than the pro-rata rate per match but it’s a discount on matchday prices seeing us take on L2 opposition in the league. I think the club has also demonstrated in its results against L1 opposition in the 3 cup games this season we will certainly be taking this very seriously.

I know some have moaned about £20 tickets for a third round game but have you seen Villas champions league home prices

Not sure if it will upload but you can say between £85 to £95 for non season ticket holders
Arsenal are over £100
So glad I’m not a glory hunter

I don’t think it is bad to be honest, pretty much what I expected.

Hopefully it will be another great night.

How long before the EPL clubs introduce dynamic pricing?

That’s a horrible trend.
Fortunately, its very unlikely to affect us much, since we rarely come close to selling out.

My expectation is next season, I think quite a few already use Ticketmasters platform to sell their tickets. It’s just started in Spanish football this season.

Neighbours are Villa fans and it seems that the traditional methods are been corroded away.
Measures to stop STH sharing there ticket, if they don’t attend they have to sell there seat back (at a reduced price) so the club can re sell it at face value. They said to me that some who have missed a game have had snotty emails reminding them of the process
I know supply and demand and the desire for full houses backing the team but really! I suppose the flip side is Man Utd fan who sits behind four seats that always have different occupiers as the STH sells them to football tourists each week at a profit if course

My mate supports Brentford and they do the same, he got a warning for not attending their first home game (even though he did), and not informing them so they could re-sell the ticket, undoubtedly to a Chinese tourist or some such.

Villa have a reputation for ripping people off. In the Premier League there is a price cap of £30 for away fans, and a rider that all clubs must also charge concessionary prices below that cap for the usual type of catagories. Last season, Villa charged £29.99 for their concessions. They’ve also drawn criticism for their matchday pricing from the FSA this season, you can pay over £70 for a ticket in the Holte End of their outdated dump of a ground. So given that they are local competition I hope the £20 is well received, because that’s not a bad price in my book. Really come to dislike Villa, and although its been a money maker I hope our “association” with them is consigned to history sonner rather than later.

Would they have given him a refund?

He’s an ST holder, so I don’t think so.

Ridiculous, you have paid for it already so it is up to you whether you go or not. If that happens here, I’ve finished with football.

That’s not the point though Cats. Some clubs have long waiting lists for season tickets and have STholders that don’t go, bit won’t give up there ST either. They just sell their seat every week, often for a good profit.
Not likely to happen here in the foreseeable.

Well let’s hope Walsall can get to a place where tickets are in demand before we start worrying about such hypothetical scenarios.

That’s different. If they never go and sell their ticket, I don’t agree with but I wouldn’t expect a warning if I missed a game for whatever reason. That is a club just being greedy and wanting to sell the seat twice.

Yeah, can’t see us needing to worry about it haha.

Whilst I wish we were a bigger club, in a better division, I also love how connected to the club I can feel, and how accessible it all is. Nights like last night, or even traipsing up to Carlisle on a Tuesday eve when it’s -7 with windchill, to witness a dire 0-0 amongst 120 other hardy souls, have a charm of their own.

If we were ever in a place where you had to amass a gazillion points across 12 seasons to attend away games, or had waiting lists for season tickets etc it would break all that.

Flip side is that I only know a couple of Saddlers personally, so usually end up 200 miles from home on my own, when with supporting the big teams I guess you’re much more likely to know fellow supporters, plastic or otherwise.

I’d have thought you were more likely to know people following Walsall than a big club. One of the big attractions is that no matter where I have been following Walsall you can always find a Walsall fan in a pub to have a drink with.

I used to know almost every face at away games, and still know most. I have put names to faces over the years, some by just chatting in pubs, a lot through UTS.

Happy to meet up with you any time you are at a game, have a beer or a coke if you don’t drink. I keep myself to myself a bit more these days cos I take the kids, but I still speak to loads of people. Once you get to know one or two then you will know more and more.

Birmingham have just introduced the same this season

Personally i find the “dislike” of fans from opposing clubs a bit odd nowadays. Going to work on a Monday is always good for a chat with Villa, Blues and Albion fans about our respective performances over a weekend.

In ny younger days i would have a passionate “dislike” for most other local clubs but nowadays realise we are all just people having hopes and dreams for our chosen clubs.

Over recent years it has been damn tough for us Saddlers so even this decent start to the season fills me with enormous joy and happiness.

I will admit though that my weekends were always a little less tarnished following a defeat if those at the custard bowl suffered a similar misfortune. So much so i would always stay up late to watch their defeat usually as the last match on MOTD
