League Two 24/25 - The Other 23

The owners seem to demand instant success because they’re finding transfer.

Bring a new manager in, give him funds to sign new players but no time for them to adjust to how the manager wants them to play. Sack said manager and offload players once the new manager doesn’t want them. Rinse and repeat it would seem.

They’ve already appointed ex Accrington manager, John Coleman as their new manager until the end of the season.

Paying players 5 and 6 grand a week Gillingham apparently madness at this level

Gillingham appoint John Coleman. Presume the owners had had enough after the Bromley debacle and went to get someone in place before giving Bonner the boot

Don’t think we can get near to counting any chickens yet.

There’s money about in this league and some will go big. We’re also seeing some of the pre season favourites begin to cluster.

It’s very much in our hands. I just want it to be February with our lead and squad in tact. January always makes me nervous.

I agree P.T. I know a lot say we should strengthen - and I agree as every other team will also be strengthening - but I’ll settle for going into Feb with exactly the same squad as we have now.

If as Ben Sadler has says, the plan is to exit this month even stronger then I’ll be delighted…

Get what you’re saying mate. Unlikely that we’ll have the same squad when the window shuts. In the position we’re in, you have to ram home your advantage by making sure we’re really strong going into feb. March is a ridiculously busy month notoriously. We need quality depth throughout the squad

Gonna be a long evening for Salford, hope it takes a lot out of them

Me too mate but mainly because it’s Salford!

Crewe dropping points, 0-0 at Swindon.

14 points ahead of Vale and having a game in hand is ridiculous considering how tight the top was two months ago.

Could be up by end of March at this rate, seven more wins probably secures automatic promotion anyway.

How many fans have made the long trip from Salford to East Manchester?

Over 5000 according to the BBC commentators, we only ever see 50–100 when they visit us

Surprised they took 5k. Presumably a lot of Manure fans in with that lot?

Curtis Tilt apparently got 100 tickets to distribute to friends and family (wonder if Tom Tonks was allowed to go up to watch before his big game tomorrow as they were on football focus today) so probably a decent amount of that crowd was relatives of the players watching.

Bet City were disappointed they couldn’t notch another 2 up to make it a round 10. Hopefully wheels fall off their (Salford’s) chariot now…

Watching the game I noticed, discord amongst Salford players on quite a few occasions. I know they got stuffed, but it was noticeable early on, and noticeable particularly when you compare that with our togetherness. When we have conceded this season it has seemed to strengthen us.

So he gave away 20% more tickets to his mates than their usual away attendance🤣

Any stattos out there know what the record amount of points in L2 is after 25 games? If we beat MK Dongs we’ll be on 58.

Can only go back as far as 02/03 on the site I’ve found, but the highest I can find is Orient on 56 in 22/23.

Use the Calendar, find the date you want, select the division you want, then scroll down past the fixtures to find the table for that day.
