I assume you have all misspelt the name and you actually mean John Pender, the Wolves centre back from the early 80s. In 1996 when playing for Wigan he scored an own goal at Bescot which put us through to the fourth round of the F A Cup. After he retired he was, for a time at least, a bus driver in Telford. I’ve never heard anyone call him “King” though, I’ve no idea where you get that from.
Yes 13 consecutive wins in Div 4/League 2 would be a record, currently held by the two ‘Hatters’, Luton Town (2001/2) and Stockport County (last season) with 12 wins each.
As PT says, a tall order still, but it’s certainly not beyond the capabilities of this team.
Whilst accepting that the fat bird hasn’t started catawaulling yet, we are definitely on for a higher points finish than the moneybags teams of last season
92 Stockport - 2.0 ppg
88 Rectum - 1.91 ppg
86 Mansfield - 1.87 ppg
We are currently on 2.32 ppg which, if maintained would give us 107pts
Just goes to show that spaffing boat loads of cash on “names” isnt the way to go. Players need to be selected for how you want to play and provide the necessary tools.
Ours you to sell most of them to anybody so if you were towards the end of his delivery round you didn’t get one so he could finish early .ask him next week what happened to my pink ?and he’d swear blind he delivered it .
He’s got a way with words to ensure those who pay his wages get the message
They went on a fantastic run in the second half of last season and did exceptionally well - he calls that a failure…. What message does that send to his players who probably felt that they’d done amazingly well to get from a relegation spot to the play offs??
