I presume Cooper left out all the players who are going to keep Leicester in the Prem.
We gave a good account of ourselves and created some good chances and openings. They had plenty of the ball but a lot of it was tapping it around at the back.
I think we matched them on the night and for a Prem team they were disappointing.
MOTM is a hard one, maybe Stirk, or Dave, or Big H, or the sponsors choice, but it’s a coin toss really. Well played everyone.
Only feeling tonight is pride. Really special bunch of players, credit to Sadler for putting this lot together.
Let’s go and get a bigger reward on Saturday, three points closer towards promotion.
Walsall took on premier league opposition tonight and more than held their own.
With a bit of luck and a little more composure we could have won that game. The saddlers played with passion and gave it a good go. The atmosphere was tremendous and Leicester will count themselves fortunate to have won because we were the better team…
Got called into work so missed the game and had to settle for the tv (missed first 5 minutes).
I thought it was a strange line up tbf but with exception of playing Albert where he did I thought Sadler got it right, well done to the lads they did themselves and our club proud last night, 3 poor penalties but the difference was a keeper that filled the goal and a keeper that didn’t tbf to Simkin another 3 inches length he’d have got 2 of them.
Either way it gave the fans a bit of pride and even my mates who are wolves fans said we were excellent and they where suprised by us, that’s good to hear as it’s always “little Walsall, the club with the market”etc.
Well done lads, proud of you for giving us a team that give it a go.
Drawing with a premiershit team, even one as poor as Leicester, is a good result for the team. Getting to the third round for the chance to play them and having 8000 through the gate is good for the club. Helps keep the lights on over winter. Well done Mat and the lads.
It bothers me at times too. I don’t need a lecture from anyone about not needing possession to win, I totally get that but the numbers get really low at times, especially at home when you expect to take the game to opponents more. And yes, last night it was totally expected of course.
I’m starting to care less though. They didn’t create an awful lot last night, and we created 3 golden chances to win the game. That’s what matters really. We did it at Salford, for all of their huff and puff, our little spell in the game was enough to win the game.
I’m quite disappointed about last night. Not because I’m not proud of the performance but because a little more composure and we win. I didn’t quite catch Lakin’s first chance because someone walked straight in front of me as he hit it, but it looked like if he had kept it low like he did at Salford, he scores. Not a fan of Uncle Albert upfront, wasted there.
It wasn’t to be but it really was a great effort. Early kick-off Saturday, I hope we aren’t flat and come out raring to go and get an important 3 points. This team can achieve something great this season.
Not a great game but but a very good performance by the squad. We could of (sic) won it in normal time. And so could they. But they couldn’t breach our defence. Arguably, we had the better chances and most of their attempts were abysmal.
But what about those penalties? Terrible. OK, their goalie is formidable but we don’t seem to have a clue.
Come on MS, sort us out! We’ve missed 3 pennos in game time this season. We could be top o’t league now if a couple of those had gone in!
But well done to the Team for embarrassing a Prem team. And well done to the vociferous fans who kept up the support all game.
This squad looks special.

Agree with you here. Lack of possession hasn’t seemed to handicap us this season, except maybe v Franchise.
But think what we might achieve with more possession
Agree with most of what has been said. Defence superb - what great prospects are young Players are. More composure in front of goal and we would have won. Uncle Albert as a central striker clearly doesn’t work though - put him out wide where he can do some damage. Bring DJ on a bit earlier to give him time to settle in. Brilliant atmospheric behind the goal - like old times
My overriding feeling is one of pride, I thought we were quite superb from the first whistle to the last. On another night we would have won that game and EPL Leicester would have had no complaints had we done so. My only minor gripe was i thought we were a little slapdash ion possession, if we really want to become a decent side not just at this level but higher up we do need to take better care of the football when it is in our possession.
There is something special going on down the Bescot folks, tell your friends and tell your family and get them down there because the one disappointment for me was the number of empty seats, surely we can better than a shade over five and a half thousand in the ‘home’ audience. Sadler and ther boys deserve full houses for these type of occasions which don’t come around every day.
When I watched the reply it was a bit clearer,
With the events that led up to it. When you are stood behind that goal its probably more frustration as we were on top at the time.
