MK Dons (A) – Sat 30th Aug, 3.00pm (League Two)

Usually struggle on their wider pitch and they are a damn sight better than last season.

3-1 loss for me and onto Chesterfield.

The referee for our trip to MK Dons will be Sam Mulhall from Cheshire. Mr Mulhall is a relativley newbie to EFL fixtures but this will be his second fixture involving Walsall FC.
His very first EFL leauge game was Harrogate v Walsall on 21st December 2024. It turned into a memorable fixture in that we won 0-2 with goals from Nathan Lowe & Albert Adomah. Josh March got booked twice within 3 minutes in the first half for fouls on Harry Williams and then elbowed Taylor Allen in the face which got him his red card. The match was also memorable for the extreme windy weather.
Since that fixture Mr Mulhall was only appointed to a further two Leauge 2 fixtures and one Leauge 1 fixture for the remainder of the 2024/25 season and reverted back to his usual National Leauge appointments.
Onto the 2025/26 season and he is back for another try in Leauge 2 having been in charge of the recent Chesterfield V Bristol Rovers fixture issuing 6 yellow cards and 1 red card, but then last week ended up back into a National Leauge fixture between Truro v Southend United.

So, guess who Sadler would like to have as the two starters upfield? Answers on a postcard.

My guess would be Pressley and Kanu

I think Kanu will start on the bench again.

I’d prefer him to start, obviously, but it doesn’t leave many options to change the game. Desperately need another forward, sooner rather than later.

Think the vast majority of us would like it to be them, but this IS Sadler we are talking about…
Would love us to thrash the Dongs and with them up front we would stand a chance, but the moron will have Matt up there at some stage otherwise he wouldn’t sleep at night…

Great preview as ever!

Horrible stadium - no atmosphere. Give me a small ground any day of the week over this plastic place.

There’s few clubs I take a dislike to - but MK dons are one. Sadly after a decline last season they seem back in form. Big budget too.

Not going to the game - but looking forward to it all the same. I think we may sneak something from it as Franchise won’t relish playing us. Going for a 2-2 draw.

UTS.

I could understand Saturday as he hadn’t really had time to work with his new team mates.

After a week with them and the coaches, I’d be disappointed if Albert or Josh started ahead of him.

Was at the open training session this morning and I think we’ll be unchanged from the Salford game based on what I saw.

What, don’t you like girls?

One of the few grounds that I absolutely hate going to. It’s lacking in atmosphere and I can’t wait for the final whistle. I would also add that while I have no problem with the fans of any club I’d love to see this lot fold.

I’d stick with the original target, no-one would grieve for the foul cancer that is Slough. :poop:

Good work as usual Steve.

Another tough trip on Saturday, The Dons have spent a lot of money bolstering their squad (so did Salford, look what we did to them). Anything is possible with football, that’s why I’m predicting a narrow win.

But not prepared to commit to who the winner will be ?

Think he’s confusing it with the song by The Style Council.:sweat_smile:

Top preview mate and one not all that far for you! I will be there, parking on a customers car park opposite! :joy:
Saw Paul Downing a lot in the town I lived in until recently. Always had a decent conversation with him and he reflects on his time at Walsall “as good old days”
Nothing I would love more than to take 3 points off these!!

I agree - but Walsall ain’t exactly Utopia!
