MK Dons (A) – Sat 30th Aug, 3.00pm (League Two)

It’s shite!!

The Lyrics and video are very clever and prescient.

I can understand how the music doesn’t appeal to everyone, but that’s grown on me, especially the string section at the end.

It looks better than it did in the mid 90s.
When I first took my mrs up to meet my mom, half the town centre had been bulldozed, looked like the luftwaffe had only just left. :grimacing:

You are talking about the clip! Thought you meant the Utopia that is Walsall!
When I look back to my teenage years it is so sad to see what is left of Walsall as a town.

There should be a thread about how Walsall the town can have a prosperous future. Its history is as an industrial market town, but neither of things are coming back. What will replace it?

Walsall of course, Elvis with the winner.

Will nick a win 1 nil here or we will get pumped 5 nil. no inbetween. Wont hold me breath, Mk Dons away is usually a write off …

Nice easy away day tho, padded seats, plenty of parking…

That is what Wigan town centre looks like now . The “regeneration” project phase 1 was demolition and was extremely effective but there are still no signs of the long awaited phase 2 :see_no_evil_monkey:

Its an away day ill never go back to. Brilliant stadium - horrendous location. Also maybe be swayed by the battering i witnessed the last time i went.

Lump off

It’s the best stadium in league 2. However much I dislike MK dons it’s not a bad day out. It’s not that hard to get to either.

Just need to come back with 3 points for it to be worthwhile.

Is it though. I thought it had zero character and the atmosphere is horrid because it’s way too big for the number of fans that go there. And even the bar was pretty shite, fans were having to sort their own drinks out at half time.

That said, I’m going Saturday :joy:

It’s certainly big and impressive but due to the size of the crowds in comparison it has no atmosphere whatsoever.
I hope we beat them (obviously) but last time we played there it was as though the stadium itself sucked the life out of our performance.

I was impressed. In fairness, im easily impressed. By copious amounts of evidence, you have higher standards HA. But thats why we love ya.

Haha not at all, each to their own! It wasn’t for me, but there we are.

Tbh I was convinced to go because I think this is the first “big game” in our season and will be a good indication of where we will actually be come the shake out.

Theres not many in this league id activity go back to once done. Vale/ Slops aside.

In L1 though, plenty of repeat grounds. Blackpool/ Luton being the top ones.

Anyone know where there’s free parking
Around the ground.

I do Newport every year (not sure why that tradition started), and Bristol Rovers whenever we play them because it is my favourite away day, but yeah other than that I try to do new ones rather than the same ones over and over.

I am intrigued by this game though.
