Murray McKee

Yes, i think that’s no coincidence.

I wondered what Murray had been doing since the enormous hit with Show Me Heaven.

Looking for a good heart, as these days they’re hard to find.

You have to give credit where it’s due. Commercially Trivela seem pretty savvy to me. The improvements off the field are now starting to gather pace and most areas that needed attention have seen some form of care. Progress can be seen.

The football side is still a major issue. We are still suffering from a major lack of understanding in how the business works. We are still making silly mistakes all down to identity and recruitment.

Commercial improvements will mean nothing if we end up in non league. I dont know how many more years we will get away with poor footballing decisons with so many clubs looking to progress and step up

An excellent and balanced post, acknowledging the good things that Trivela have done but, as you say, football is gathering pace and we need to make sure we, at the very least, stay up with it. Of course, the off the field improvements will very much support the footballing side but we need to start getting that right. I think even one really good season would see crowds up at 6k+ and the bandwagon could start to roll.

I think this is the same guy who was being shown round the various Lounges after the game on Saturday. Probably not the best time to have intoduced him after the result Saturday, but good luck to him.

This is the real quandry for me. Like you I believe Trivela are no mugs. I also believe their intentions are decent.
The whole club needed a shake up and off the pitch commercially it is getting it. I can understand a period of calm reflection after the takeover to assess everything but the decisions on the football side seem sluggish at best.

I thought about it, but instead went for a Maria McKee joke.

Big shoes to fill after Mole. Has the new bloke ever arranged two gigs on the same day??

All well and good but can he:

Fill in at right back?
Does he wave?
Can he cook chips?
Understand possession based counter attacking football?

If he’s managed a piss up in a distillery he should be ok here.

Let’s hope they give him enough thyme to do the job properly

From Creamfields to the Phoenix Club.

Good luck to him. Splitting the Club Secretary role from operations was a key decision.
Two very different, and sometimes conflicting skill sets required.

As long as the sausage rolls were nicely burnt and the beer was selling well at £5 a pint he’d be pretty happy I think.

There are indeed ambitious, forward thinking, innovative, well run clubs itching for a chance to sweep aside music hall joke clubs like ours from the EFL. Just look at the three that came up last year, almost guaranteed that all three will be in Division one next year too! And there are indeed similar clubs waiting in the wings also!
Good news that FHTF thinks this guy is made of the right stuff, there is a layer of crumbling, losing mentality, unenthusiastic naivety to eradicate from the building before any modern approach can be contemplated.

Did anyone spot this in the LinkedIn message thread …

I know the lad who’s been appointed as the new Head of Marketing and he’s great - used to work for the Wolves amongst other places, he really knows his stuff

Ah, they’ve both been knighted I see, sir Daniel Mole for services to football I assume :joy:.
