Absolutely weād need a replacement for Lowey!!!. DJT for whatever reason didnāt do enough for me. Maybe the loan in Ireland last season and the coming season will do him good. Josh is a very hard worker no doubt. His goal return unfortunately isnāt that great. Hence why weād need a replacement. Iām sure the club know this
Would be a mistake for me. You have to strengthen from a position of undoubted strength
I genuinely believe Lowe would want to see out the season with us, he is fully integrated into the group has the chance not to just get a promotion on his CV but that as champions and he is a fantastic opportunity of winning the League 2 golden boot!! BUT he is a Stoke player and they or Robins holds the cards. It would almost be cruel for them to recall Lowe for his sake alone!!
Heās far too good for div 4 and has a great career ahead of him as long as heās managed right and remains focused.
Like everyone I hope he is left here to help us finish the job but itās out of our hands, I trust the club to get someone else in, Draper does seem the obvious choice and Iād be overjoyed if we could make him one of our own with a decent contract, Draper has something about him and I do feel if he as somewhere to call home weād reap the rewards.
He is so much more than a goal scorer though, which will be difficult to replace, especially from what we have. DJ or Josh have their strengths, and if you combined them you would have a ready made replacement for Nathan.
If he goes back then I would want us to bring someone in, but having said that, even if we donāt, we will still win the league with this squad.
Where does Lowe rank in terms of strikers weāve had in the last 20/30 years?
Lowe is obviously too good for this league but is playing in a side that is creating chances for fun and having 15-20 shots a game. For years I can remember going through games with only one or two chances created so itās hard to compare really. You could have had Haaland playing up front for us in previous seasons and he would have struggled to get double figures. This is to take nothing away from Lowe who is clearly a class act and who may well play at the highest level
From what i understand about Lowe doesnt sound good. I will be very surprised if he stays as Robins sees him as either giving Stoke an option off the bench late on in games, or that he wants him to push himself more wirh a spell in Lge 1 and a higher standard of football.
Lowe is desperate to stay with us but Robins has told Lowe that he is Stokeās player and that they will do what they see if best for him, and not the other way round.
I understand that a decision will be made by Robins next week.
Very concerning if heās a Coventry player
Has he signed for Coventry now?!!!
Two of Stokeās strikers scored today. Which may be good for us!
Stoke have been lying to us all this time
Makes Sadler look a bit daft
Iām surprised that Robins wields so much power in that structure tbh. If he wants him in his squad then fair enough, but if it is about his development, then I would have thought that itās down to others to decide.
Hope you are wrong on this one Westie
Didnāt Lowe say he either gets recalled or stays at Walsall?
Sorry, Stoke. Been away from posting on this Board for too long
As expected Iād say. Change of manager hasnāt helped. Such a shame as the lad is a level headed boy whoās enjoying his football. Always a chance it was gonna happen. Letās see who we get in by next Saturday. Iām sure thereās a plan @WestieJack
Unreliable FLW is reporting Robins has interest in getting Louie Barry on loan.
I was talking to the kids about this.
He is easily on course for a 25 goal season. We havenāt had a 25 goal striker in any division since Kyle Lightbourne.
Heās that good, in my opinion.
Could be that that it is Matt thats hanging up his boots and we end up with a Draper/Lowe starting line up
He really is. His movement is just so good. For such a young man he is so intelligent on the football pitch. That pass today for the Jellis goal He reminds me of Harry Kane how he plays, dropping off, but also always there when it matters to put it in the net.
Iām resigned to him going, but whatever he does I wish him all the best, it has been a pleasure.
